Given our current debaclement of the current senior list I look at it and wonder who is going to stand up and be a leader next to him but all I'm seeing is average footballers.
I think Pendleburys prime years have now been wasted and if we ever do build up to having a good list again his career will be just about over if not completely gone.
I worry we are going to be in one massive mess.
I struggle to name ten good footballers down at Collingwood.

Pendlebury
Sidebottom
Cloke?
Everyone else either too injury prone or too young to judge.
We have become a very very below average club.

I read your stuff and often wonder whether you are a true Pies supporter or an alias of an opposition poster.
Pies supporters don't have to be positive all the time but you remind of a hyper vigilant phobia sufferer.

I shouldn't bite but i will.

Who should be our captain, or should we be a captainless club?

When you post something negative, can you please give alternatives or GTFO?

OP would have celebrated the 2010 flag by moaning that we couldn't possibly go close to winning the 2011 one.

We got rid of them all. Pendlebury is the only one left. That's the point of the thread. We haven't even recruited a decent replacement that can step in to a Captaincy role.

Who on our list that we got rid of should have remained?
Who of those people were captain material?

Please list names instead of generic "we gotz ridz of dem"

If the OP does not get red carded, then the world has gone to hell.

TG I think there is something in the concerns you have for the list. However when you commence with such a dramatic and negative picture it makes any balanced debate almost impossible. It leaves very little room for others to contribute without getting into a discussion of extremes.

Look, I don't agree with you've said in the OP.

But the overall point you seem to be trying to make is that we have lost a lot of leadership and theres a massive hole there. And I absolutely agree with that, and certainly think its a massive problem. Losing Maxy, Ball, Beams and H in one year is going to massively hurt us in a leadership sense.

I know people have had enough of mature ages, but I think O'Keefe or someone like that is almost a must. We need to get more leadership into the club or else all these young kids we have could end up like Melbourne's or Richmonds.

Yeah well said, thats what I tried to say in my post haha..

I think if anyone else had started this thread people would have taken it more seriously.
Must admit I am starting to get very worried about what is happening at the club. A youth policy can only go so far. Those young kids need some role models and experience around them.

nb. Like the invention of the word debaclement

TG you gotta lean how to enjoy footy. I read your posts and i reckon I know why you're so negative. You expect a premiership every year and have decided that's the be all and anything less is a massive failure. Of course everyone wants a premiership, but it seems like your expectations are never tempered. I would be more impatient and angry if a premiership was the only thing that could make me happy. Just chill out for a bit. Ill give you a tip, we aren't winning the premiership next year, so take a step back and and try to enjoy the process of putting pieces together, even if at times we look like we might be going backwards. The flag is so bloody hard to win so anyone that uses it as a measure for enjoying football is going to most likely spend a lifetime actually not enjoying something that is fun. Enjoy the kids coming through, enjoy the regular season wins week to week, enjoy being passionate about a pretty damn good sport even ifs frustrating at times. My Dad has s similar attitude where winning the flag is the only thing good enough. Its sad and Ive seen him fall out of love with something he shouldn't. Ultimately you can do what you want but your constant angst about the club on here is pretty overpowering.

Some of our young and older guys are simply not that good. We have long been concerned about how Blair, Goldsack, Thomas and others measure up against players in the better teams. We have some senior players who seem injury prone. Then we have injury clouds hanging over 2 of our latest recruits. I see less reason than many others to be excited about our playing list, though I would love to be proved wrong.

Paragraghs are your friend.

I'd have given Ball the captaincy before Pendles... but not now.
Heath Shaw could've been an excellent leader going in to 2015 with Pendlebury captain but we couldn't handle him.
Wellingham could've been stepping in to a captaincy role Chris Dawes was well educated would be the right age and well spoken and should be helping Pendlebury, Beams is the one though for me.
I don't see anyone on our current list that can help Pendlebury, either too young or injury prone.
