And a reminder of how Dutton approached the plebiscite on same sex marriage:

“I am into free speech... presumably two songs should be played, one for gay marriage and one against gay marriage,’’ Dutton said, according to The Australian

Dutton is the reason this referendum will succeed. The man is a bigoted idiot.

Dutton keeps referring to Queensland because it is the one state where more than 50% of the population live outside of the capital.

~60% of Tasmanians live outside Hobart

I am referring to Duttons questions that Albo chooses to ignore, not mine. I say again, if you want to win the referendum, answer his questions.

As far as the Constitution goes, I was most influenced by Bob Frenchs op ed in The Australian :
Benefits of Indigenous voice to parliament far outweigh risks, writes former chief justice Robert French

'The voice will derive its moral authority from its constitutional status. That does not require that it have legal authority to bind the parliament or executive to give effect to its representations. The risk that advice from the voice could have that effect is non-existent.'

'Nor can the voice bind the parliament to have regard to its representations before a law is enacted. That would be a limitation on the lawmaking power of parliament which, if intended, would have to be spelt out in the Constitution. The amendment does not do that. The implication is not open.'

'The remaining area of debated risk is that the executive might be legally required to have regard to representations made to it. Absent a law of the parliament to that effect, that would have to be a constitutional implication. If such an implication was drawn it could apply only to actual specific exercises of statutory or non-statutory executive power.'

'It cannot be said that the risk is non-existent. And if it eventuated, it might mean that in certain decisions an executive decision-maker would have to consider a representation before making the decision to which it relates. That is a far cry from being required to comply with the proposals or advice contained in the representation.'

Thats the guts of what the op ed discusses, though there is plenty more there.
I have no concerns about the Constitution, but clearly others do. Address them as Bob French has.
And I am saying that in the specific any question asked by Dutton must be irrelevant purely due to the biased and disingenous nature of the person asking

& if the referendum fails .... you know you could have done more ?
Referendum will not fail.

The least popular leader in Australia's history - remember Morrison was preferred because Dutton was so unelectable - is about to sell his bigoted no vote. No one except the rusted on cookers will listen.

Eh I can see the chance that it fails.
But it won’t be via any cogent argument raised by the LNP
Albo would admit he could have done more, fat chance, he will blame Dutton.

Dutton's leading with his chin taking this position, Albanese isn't going to miss the chance to break his jaw.

Albo cannot engage with Dutton on this issue in any way shape or form because Dutton is not genuine in his questions; they are only there for political manipulation and engagement with them does not help the goal of the referendum

No. Because trying to talk to Dutton only hurts the chance of it getting up

Edit and what do you mean I could have done more?

Dont think I replied to your edit.
Addressing the questions should take the wind out of that issue, i.e increase the yes vote. You could go down that path & choose not to.

My use of you is not personal. Its the disagreement we have.

Such is that choice.
WTF does that mean?

Dutton asks dozens of questions - questions he himself could do some basic research on but chooses not to. Because he is not after answers.

And those questions HAVE been answered. Not all directly by Albanese but by the people who have the understanding and expertise to give authoritative answers. You referenced one of those answers yourself.

WHAT has been Dutton's response to these answers? Has he been satisfied? Has he even replied?

But that is not the point is it? Because this is just a political game being played by Dutton not in a legitimate effort to clarify community concerns about an initiative that has overwhelming support in general terms but to amplify them for political gain. To secure a much needed political victory to secure his position within his own party.

And if those questions get answered, more will arise. And on it goes. Cynical self-serving politicking at its absolute worst that eats away at public trust in our government - with the Indigenous Community as a pawn. What a disgrace.

'Such is that choice'

Still spinning the Solicitor General line despite Spears calling him out on it. F*** me he really is just a disgusting, greasy liar.
Also reckons the Attorney General - Dreyfus doesn't support it - unbelievable BS.

The Greens went a little further in their tone, with leader Adam Bandt calling the Liberals “a small racist rump sliding into irrelevance”.
I think Andrews beat them to it after the Aston by election.
