MRP / Trib. PFD tackle on Kruzer - MRP grades it as 1 week suspension

Was Daniel Harford, former Tribunal member, not Burke (my bad), but yep, that's what he said apparently

Would love to hear him explain the differences because at first glance that sounds insane. Hilarious seeing the main board thread where the same people who were ready to riot in the streets if Danger got off last week are now debating if Grundy's was "the perfect tackle" and arguing whether or not he should be suspended. Last week all I heard from the area was "He HAS to be suspended! We need consistency!" Seems consistency only needs to be taken into consideration when it can be applied against a Geelong player.

Mental short people

I actually can't believe it. Kane Cornes said Danger has to go. Now he says Grundys was the perfect tackle and he shouldn't get suspended. Wtf is going on here? The tackles are nearly identical. Are people blind? Or do they have short memories. I'm livid at the moment. And if Grundy gets off I'm actually going to seriously consider not watching this sport.

disagree
grundy is a ruckman and is bigger than danger, and he used 2 motions
much much worse than danger

anyway - this week will show what the afl is about

buckley set the scene with his comment
grundy's action was worse, and should be 3 weeks down to 2

Given as how the Dangerfield tackle was graded as: Careless with Medium impact to the Head with Kreuzer jogging off. Which was 2 down to 1
Can't see how Grundy can be graded as anything other than: Careless with High impact to the Head which will be 3 down to 2

The conversation over Danger was "Once you pin the arms, the onus is on you to protect the head".

If the dialogue is to be consistent, then Grundy has to go.

If the Kreuzer "concussion" was taken into consideration for adjudication, then Grundy has to go.
Mind you, Kreuzer was not knocked out on the field, and jogged off the field on his own feet. Then he played yesterday. A week after so-called "concussion".

Brown was hospitalised. HOSPITALISED.

This isn't tit-for-tat or Danger-Brownlow salt. This is a crossroads moment for how the AFL/MRP want tackles to be in our game.

Either Grundy goes for a "perfect" tackle, or the MRP is simply corrupt, sadly Bartel included (who argued for Danger to go).

I've always thought Cornes has said things in the media just to get attention/because he is a d**khead but I reckon there is more to it with Danger!
Maybe he is still a bit salty because of the Adel/Port connection and/or maybe he's been pantsed by Paddy when trying to tag him.

Edit: Oh and how could I forget 119!

It's the 119 for sure.

Cane Kornes is claiming the opposite.

What a buffoon!
offended about PFD in general and now has to resort to click bait headlines to be noticed - not unlike the baiting that goes on in here - says stiff to get noticed and elicit reactions.

And he's done it again - this time saying Grundy should get off -which will create a storm after he called Danger soft and then he should get rubbed out.

Attention seeker 101.

Go Catters

MRP has painted itself into a corner. There is no way Grundy can get off without the integrity of the whole system coming into question. Mind you, I half expect the MRP to come up with a "significant differentiation" between the Danger-Kreuzer & Grundy-Brown tackles that gets Grundy off

Yeah. any other week but he has to go for 1 or 2.
It is commendable that all these Magpies supporters are coming out and saying the Grundy tackle is so different to the Dangerfield one, but that is all crap. Leigh Matthews summed it up in a nutshell, “The fact is, if Dangerfield gets a week Grundy has to get a week, it’s the same. Pin the arms, head hit the ground, that’s it and I agree with that to be honest,”

If this is the case then it would highlight a clear basis of prejudice across footy world. Grundy's tackle actually caused significant concussion whilst the jury's out on a fit this week playing Kreuzer. Grundy included the dreaded sling motion which Paddy's did not.

My guess is in all seriousness if any Cats player is scrubbed out this week then the hand of the AFL is present and Geelong should risk further infringement in order to challenge and right the ship.

Tigers supporters are all ringing SEN this morning saying Hawk and Duncan should go. Bloody hell. This is nasty.

Grundy must go for three weeks down to two with early plea given the genuinely serious nature of the action and consequences. He slung him and failed duty of care to his head. He had affected the tackle prior to the second action. He goes and if not something very corrupt is going on.
