Phantom Drafts Board <- Read before posting.

Welcome to the Phantom Drafts Board.

For now the board is only for phantom drafts but we are also open to other suggestions so feel free to put forward any ideas you may have.

All general draft discussion must go in the main board thanks.

Thanks Merv. For a while there's been a lot of absolute rubbish on the old D + T board. I don't know how others feel, but personally it was the huge amount of trade threads that appeared all throughout the year (this year in particular). Has a split between draft and trading being considered? That way, one of the would be the main forum and one would be the sub-forum (like this one is).

There'll still be rubbish on a draft forum (most of which you've already moved to this sub-forum ) but I feel as though a draft main forum and a trading sub forum has some merit.

We'll probably get some phantoms for the PSD and RD as well, but even they're done and dusted by mid-December.

I love this Board. Where people can Put there Phantom Drafts here and Does not get Clutted in the General Draft Posts.

Agree with Vic Crows suggestion of seperating 'Draft' and 'Trading'.

The board has been getting a huge amount of activity, most of which is rubbish, and trying to find threads on the draft is increasingly difficult amongst all this 'trade scenario 711' rubbish.

Is it possible to stop people from posting 'short' phantom drafts?

The majority of the drafts on this board are 1 round or shorter, surely by now everyone knows those names, and it just gets boring and repetitive when only one player is in a different position, or when there's only one different name.

Also drafts, especially short ones, where the poster has put 4 words and calls it an 'explanation' or where the poster hasn't even put an explanation down at all should be deleted...

First round mock drafts aren't worth the miniscule amount of bandwidth it takes to load the page. The same names, usually produced by a bunch of people that watched the TAC Cup Grand Final and a couple of Nationals games on TV.

Should there just be a single thread for those to express their views on the first round and if you've got more to give than a first round then you can have you're own thread.

If anyone wants to do a Phantom i think it should be a requirement to provide explanations for each pick. If this is not done there is going to be a whole heap of phantoms that is just a list which anyone can do.

What is wrong with That?

One's with Explanation look better and have better info but the Lists ones are not Terrible

I'm not going to restrict it to just those with descriptions, because I don't want to stifle the discussion too much. Obviously most people will regard those without discussion as being of lesser quality than those with discussion - and that's fair enough.

Could someone give me a list of posters Phantom Drafts that will actually be worth reading? i.e people that actually watch some junior football during the season. Would make it a bit easier than having to sift through all those who just have a guess at a 1st round on what they've heard.

With the influx of phantom drafts, just a couple of things to remember...

- any draft must be a full first round at the very least, so up to Richmond at #26.
- it must be the correct order.

Don't do either of these things and it will be deleted on sight.

Also, if you update your draft and do so in a new thread as opposed to simply editing your previous thread, then those previous threads will be deleted - unless you can think of a good reason for it to survive. No need to have half the page being drafts from the same person.

And finally, be kind to new posters. Not everyone has the same level of knowledge at this stage, but everyone has to start somewhere. While it might not look like anything now, any one of these new phantom drafters could be the next 'expert'.
