Actually I think it's pick 6 that's meant to be cursed isn't it?

Love the clip of Balta. Looked nice running from HB and kicks the ball a mile

Me too, I like the way he plays. Loves a run and kicks the leather off it. Nothing I would like more than to have us bring in more of a Patton style gorilla to compliment Moore, but I can't help but like Balta and would have no complaints at all if we drafted him. Strikes me as an awkward match up for the opposition.

My two cents: Keep pick six as Lever doesn't fill much of a need for us.

Draft whoever we consider to be the best KPP at six. Go for best available in 2018 (at least one more KPP would be just fine) and go for Lynch. If 2018 goes as deep as predicted we could potentially get another KPP as well as a good, skilled mid/running half back type with our first couple of picks.

We need to build the group around the likes of Grundy, Moore, Treloar and JDG. Adams in the engine room. Class on the outside. Adios Mayne. Thank you Blair for your services. Sort out our development to ensure the likes of Kirby realise that massive potential. That's where our next flag comes from.

Has all the Lever talk died down on him possibly coming to the Pies?
Seems to be talk of Bulldogs and Melbourne as front runners.

I would take him at 6 if available otherwise if we can get two decent picks in the teens then would look at it.
If the price is right then I'd welcome Jake Lever with open arms. I'm pretty sure his management or himself categorically ruled out the Western Bulldogs during the week meaning he either stays or comes to us or Melbourne.

A win today might just sway him, who knows?

The idea floated around lately has been pick 6 for Brisbane's 14 and 18. I think it's a good option. Allows us to draft a tall and a line breaking player with skill in the first round.
Don't like this, pick 6 gets you one of the elite juniors and we should be keeping it IMO, i would entertain swapping it for Lever but not at his reported salary demands, he's worth around 600kpa IMO.

Dunno about elite. There's only a couple of players that scream elite this year. 6 could get us a good player but equally 14 and 18 could get us 2 good players also. I think the Lever talk has cooled so I'm just floating other options.

I guess it depends on the draft pool, if Hine thinks it's a deep draft it might be the way to go, but if he doesn't we should stick with 6.

I get the feeling 6 will become 7 anyway, i reckon the Lions will get a before first round priority pick this year.

I have the feeling we'll be looking to move the pick on way one or another. The top 20 there's some good kids but not much between 6-20. We have missed out on first round talent in the last two years, to pick two kids in the top 20 could be very handy for the next couple of years.

How can you say that? Kepler!!

I reckon swapping it for Lever would be a great outcome. He will be a long term elite player and we would be doubtful of getting the same quality if we go to the draft.

I suspect Adelaide may want more for him though. Maybe 6 plus one of the young Adelaide boys, Broomy, Aish or Shaz would get it done

I would imagine the club would be looking for KPF's first and then small lock down defenders - our two Achilles heels at present.

Lever is 6'5" or 195 cm same as Ben Reid. If McLarty, 197cm, can develop and he shows some good signs then we have a long term KPD combination. Fills a big need.we have KPF filled partly with Moore and Cox, agree still need another but not a real obvious KPF likely around pick 6 and Lever will be a gun.

Other consideration is f Moore can be a 30-40 goal forward nxt year, Elliott 40-50 and Fas around 30+ we are in much less need of another KPF. If Cox and Grundy play together Cox can be a 20+ goal kicker and suddenly we are looking potent

Coxs last 2 weeks have been great and probably made planning for next year harder.

If we opt to take pick 6 to the draft, I am hoping we take Fogarty. If we go in with both Cox and Grundy and Moore, we probably don't need another monster forward. Especially since it probably means Reid goes back in defence, and can always swing forward if need be.

I like the idea of more of a mid-sizer.

Firstly it is not definitely pick 6.
If we lose and Freo beat Essendon then we drop down 1 position on the ladder making it pick 5.
Secondly take the pick to the draft.
Freo are 6 points behind us so can't happen.
