if we reach at 6 the question has to be asked why we didn't trade back.
Maybe because no one wanted to do that Trade

Oh yeah agreed 100%. I was just saying even if he wouldn't be my choice for pick 6 I wouldn't be shattered like were
I can't wait either. A full day watching cricket. Picking up fish and chips for tea. Then settling in to watch the draft. Its going to be a great day!

Are you willing to give the club a pass if they draft a guy that ends up a Cam Guthrie type while the next pick ends up a Patrick Dangerfield type?
That's not even remotely how drafting works though.I just think pick six is absolutely massive for our future success......as they say in poker you have to know when to hold them and when to fold them.
In our position the Guthrie type might have to do so yes I would be willing to give the Club a pass mark.

You can't draft with the belief that you may not know what you're talking about, and go against your better instincts to play things safe.
If they draft a guy with significant upside, it's in part because they have confidence that they're going to reach it, and that even if they don't, they'll still probably turn out as good as the safe prospect.
If the pick is a failure, then you revise your recruiting department/strategy, but you don't get them to hedge against their own expertise.

This might work a bit better...I don't want to alarm anyone, but there is currently a popular vote occurring around the #1 bird in Australia. The magpie is currently being pipped by the Ibis, aka bin chicken, so time to vote. Vote early and vote often.

Its hard to jusge for sure. You only have to look at Nat Fyfe's U/18 "highlights" to see how difficult it is to project 3/4/5 years down the track. If he was available this year at Pick 6, I guarantee every man to a tee would be laughing him off as a joke. That is the problem with these kids. Trying to measure upside. Lot's of man child types who look good at u18 level but don't have much natural improvement in them, whereas often its the highly skilled types/fast who lack the strength etc at u18 level but have a lot more upside.
That said, a top 6 pick should be pretty easy to get a 200 game player out of.
Naughton make the Most Sense as he Fits Need and Rating him.
Question is do you think his Disposal will get better or not
I'm coming around to Naughton. My first preference is Stephenson (assuming the top 5 are Rayner, LDU,Brayshaw, Cerra and Dow). But Naughton certainly fits a need and despite his kicking style, he seems mostly effective. He surely can position himself well and has a good pair of mits.I’ve watched him play WAFL seniors. I’d take him at 6 no question.
I just don’t get the excitement over Josh Daicos and Callum Brown. A star? I don’t even see a best-22 player yet.Even though Hines drafting performance has waned a bit in the last 5 years, is still think 2016 draft will end up being a good one, Daicos looks a star.

Well you should be happy by Friday night then...surely we are taking one of the above (unless a TOP 5 mid drops)Stephenson for outside speed would be nice
Naughton as a list fit
Fogarty could be anything
Coffield skill
And Bonar not for injury would be no1. The kid looks to be class.
Any of those would not be unhappy with
