There is no way Bellchambers and Pears gets us the number one pick.
And also, I doubt we'd even use it on Boyd, probably go for an Aish type

You don't trade for pick 1 to get Aish. If you want Aish, you trade for pick 2 or 3. You're paying for a Rolls Royce and getting a Jaguar. It's still a great car, but you can get it cheaper.

So you trade to get pick 1 and draft the number 3 player in the draft...what a stupid thing to do. Boyd is the best player in the draft by the length of the Hume Highway!

Yeo would be worth a look if he wants to leave. He's from WA though IIRC.

I'd take majority of that article as a grain of salt. All he has done is basically listed all of our promising young players out of contract. Pretty sure he also said Leuenberger was good as gone.

You'd imagine we would be trying to get Crameri though.

Yeah, I can't see any reason why Yeo or Docherty would be wanting out, especially with a new coach on the way. Can understand the other three, given Polec's homesickness, Karnezis has probably been too harshly treated so you can give up on him, and Longer is up against what I suspect will be the best ruck in the competition next season.

Would you trade Bellchambers and Crameri for Billy Longer and our second round pick (24-26)?

What does that achieve for either team? Both of us now have a different second ruckman who isn't a good enough ruck to overtake our first ruck and isn't a good enough forward to play there for 85% of a game.

People stop speculating about Crameri and Bellchambers, they are as good as signed and won't be (let alone, don't want too), go anywhere else.

End of discussion.

^^And please mate. Should we chuck in Heppell and Carlisle as well?

We have kkp, we lack midfield depth. My point is that a) that deal won't get us the 1st pick, and that b) it's not satisfying a need.
Also don'. Undersell how good the top mids are in this draft

Longer probably isn't too far behind Bellchambers in term of trade value. 24-26 is too low for Crameri, but it's hardly a terrible trade suggestion.

I rate Polec, but I think if Essendon are looking to trade into the early rounds (which I still don't believe they will) they will look to deal with GWS.

At best we might trade into the 2nd Round, but will be pretty keen to hold onto Crameri, if anything, Gumby is the most likely to go.

Agree on both Yeo and Docherty. Polec seems to be enjoying life up in Brisbane. Been in good form in the reserves, think he just had minor surgery to clean up his knee. I'd be surprised if he left. Karnezis will probably go. His defensive game is why he has not appeared in the seniors regularly, the club has made that clear to us. He does have a lot of potential though and I'm confident he will be a good player either at the Lions, or a different club.

I'm hoping Longer will stay. Will be in our best 22 when his forward game is fixed.

A second round pick and a ruckman who has played a handful of games and done nothing at senior level compared to a seasoned ruckman who is 23 and has shown a lot and is leading the goal kicking tally amoungst ruckman (bar Roughead). and our leading goal kicker for the past 3 seasons.

Come on... That is the epitome of a terrible trade suggestion.

Polec is a really confusing one. I know he's had injuries, but top 5 picks are normally gifted games at every club, good or bad, because of their obvious talent. Is it a case of Voss not rating him, or him actually being a terrible selection? I don't think we'll really know the answer until he either gets a decent run at Brisbane or gets traded.

I thought Karnezis was unfairly scapegoated for the Bulldogs loss early (I watched that game with a shitload of money on the Lions at various margins, so I was watching pretty closely) and had his papers stamped after that. From what I could see on TV, I thought he offered a fair bit as a winger. I'd certainly be very keen to get him at Essendon, although I suspect Collingwood is already pretty much a done deal. What are his footskills like?

Longer seems so analogous to Bellchambers it's not funny. I really hope neither club keeps persisting with trying to jam a gold-plated square peg into a round hole at full forward.

Jack Crisp is another one who I like the look of (not really from a trade perspective as it wouldn't really make sense for any party) - what's his story at the moment?

You are spot on. Yeo and Docherty will stay because they are getting games. The only guys that I'm worried about is Polec, Karnezis and Longer. Polec will likey go back to his home state unless a massive money offer comes up. Karnezis is gone and Longer is a 50/50 chance to go. I reckon Longer will stay though.

Leading goalkicker with low 30s each year. It's a big win for Brisbane and an ultimately meaningless trade for both parties in terms of Bellchambers/Longer, but we'll be seeing far worse trades than that pop up in this thread.

One guy I'd love us to get, although the draft restrictions would make it pretty difficult, is Matt Wright from Adelaide. Really good mid/forward who can rack them up when given more than 15 minutes of game time and has decent skills. Has been used in run-with roles in the past as well. Brenton Sanderson destroyed my DT season by not playing him, but I think he'd be a perfect addition to our midfield, with the ability to rotate through as a small forward as well.

Oh really...so that explains how good our forward line has been this season...no. It was an absolute mess! We actually need a genuine CHF still (and no Hurley is not that), Boyd is elite, imagine him and Daniher down there...that is our forwardline for the next 13 years done! (for the record we have no chance of getting this anyway)

we wouldn't have had access to the really top bracket, the blokes around the 12-15 spot where we would be picking are not sure things. Completely different situation if we were like 10th spot down, but the draft doesn't look great to be perfectly honest

It seems like Sanderson doesn't rate him in the slightest, so he might be very gettable, as Broughton was last year.

Polec has not yet completed a full pre season in his three years a the club to due injury. As soon as he comes back and is on the cusp of senior selection he gets injured again. It's frustrating for all of us.

On Karnezis, his footskill are alright. His pretty similar to Pendlebury.

Crisp is someone who gives it his all. He showed some good signs last year but this year he has not been as good when in the seniors. Probably fringe at best.

That's what I'm saying! We have no chance of Getting a pick that high.
Our forward line was disfunctional because Daniher is 19yo, Hurley plays everysecond week, as does gumbo, as does winders.... No consistancy.
I personally think our kpp stocks are strong, and young... But our on ball mids need to be improved

Good call, he's essentially another Ben Howlett with a more developed forward game.
A really good sub as well, some guys just aren't suited to it, he seems to get up so speed really quickly and can have immediate impact.
