My thoughts re some of the players.

BOG OBRIEN

2nd and 3rd were Heath and Dane.

Cloke - he went ok. didnt lead up much but it wasnt that sort of game. I thought he was ok. others will bag him but given the fwds kicked 20g you would have to say he played his part.

Maxwell - incredible last qtr after being a bit up and down thru the course of the day.

Locks - Execllent. If he keeps getting the 6th defender watch out opp sides. he was v good and kept moving the ball quickly

Jolly - Average. We lost a lot of centre clearances bc Hudsons work was so good. He wont play worse than that.

Fraser - pretty good game. Ran off Minson and Hudson well and would have caused Eade some issues.

medhurst - Excellent. Got his mojo back. love it when he attacks the pill.

Davis - quiet. was surprised he wasnt pushed into the middle or if he was didnt do much. still kept harbrow out of the game didnt he.

Didak - excellent and whats more he worked his way into the game and finished it well.

Ball - Quiet but I think he at least had 8 tackles or something. Was also one of those that got us back into the game with a 5 min spurt.

Pendles - pretty ordinary all day. Missed a goal he needed to get but then lit it up in the second half. Was a key reason we got going again.

Wellingham - BOG to half time. centre clearance work v good.

L.Brown - wonder if a few of you blokes who rode him last year have finally gotten off. Physically terrific.

OBree - Average and whats more at times didnt go as hard. For a bloke who is a good tackler Ball makes him look v ave.

Sidey - Found it ok just didnt use it v well. as a bloke who watched him in juniors i think his kicking has slipped.

Toovey - Did ok. Spent some time on Aker and Gian and was ok. Spent time on Murph which was poor.

Thomas - was pretty good and showed some signs. seemed like he had good game time and ran it out. couple of questionable efforts all you could fault.

Anthony - Did some nice things but made some shockers as well. Mick ripped into him and we didnt see much of Jack after that.

Presti - v good on Bazz as usual. Bazz slipped him once or twice early but when their was at least some mid pressure happening he found it v hard against the human wall.

Johnson - was good at times and then at other times was poor by hand and foot. Prob made 3 errors and they just kill him. But to be fair other than those he was ok. Personally I wouldnt have him over Beams but MM loves him.

Pretty much agree with most of that, will add my man crush on Swanny is getting out of hand he is every bit a superstar now in my veiw.:thumbsu:

Heath was also fantastic he is getting better and better each season.

Cloke is getting his kicks at CHB which is worrying being our CHF and all, I know we kicked them from other avenues but would be nice to see him not lead so far down the field.

Also Didak much much more dangerous as a forward hope he is played there more this season then mid, wish he didn't short step on a few occasions when a on coming opponent was contesting the same loose ball.

Luke Ball is still in a saints jumper on the website where the stats are..
Some sort of prank? He has a 2010 shot in a pies jumper.. If you are working for the Collingwood site, chances are you know he plays for the pies..

People bag Johnno but he was there all day to run and carry from the back half and through the middle. Getting handball receives etc. Until someone else stands up and can run out a game like BJ does, he's going to stay. Rhyce Shaw used to do that for us also.

Not a bad summary snoop. i agree with what you said about all the people who did well. however, i think your being far too nice to:

Cloke - was poor and he needs to become a CHF. hes not good enough atm
Thomas - tried all day but has to do more when he has the ball
Fraser - has the core strength of a 4 year old. he needs to be more physical
Anthony - looked a tad slow to me today
Jolly - was poor. but your right he wont get worse

otherwise well done. lots of room for improvement pies ;)

Not Anymore:thumbsu:

Agree with most but i dont think Lockyer was excellent at all.
Fair few times i got frustrated with some of his silly mistakes.
He was okay but thats all.

Also Dale Thomas wasnt that great either, his kicking is poor and his decision making today was poor aswell

Care to cite some examples?

When Thomas kicked out on the full. I thought his field kicking was ordinary too.

I also thought Johnson kicked well and played well and will get a game ahead of Sidebottom or Thomas on the strength of his field kicking.

With so many players down, how did we win it?

**** me, you wrap up Leigh Brown - the KP forward who can't kick - for his tackling pressure, yet say O'Bree was only average?

O'Bree's clearance work was top rate, as usual. Criminally underrated.

mick singled him out for special praise so suspect he was happy.

21 touches and a pretty high efficiency rating was reason to be pretty happy. Didnt do that many times last year.

Flu.

Cloke was rubbish. He needs to actually try and spot up a target. If he marks on the wing he'll just swing onto his left and bomb it 50m which doesn't help anybody. I would not be upset to see him dropped to the 2's at all.

I actually didn't think Cloke or Jack were too bad. Thought they were both ok.

I think you'll find Cloke is actually pretty good at spotting up targets when he lowers his vision- evident in the first quarter when he could have blazed for goal but spotted up Lockyer just inside 50 who chipped to Jack over the top for a goal.

As I said in the post-game thread, Jack and Cloke played a "selfless" game.

Think about it, neither spent any time in the goal square and basically played around the 50m arc and beyond. It was all part of Mick's coaching plan to isolate the vulnerable small/medium Bulldog defenders and it worked beautifully. Both finished with a goal each and 20 touches between them which ain't bad for an ordinary day at the office and in a 6 goal win.

Also, those suggesting Daisy was average need to watch a replay. He was very good and looked fitter and stronger. Ran the game out very well and set up some very nice goals/score assists.

So you didn't get to see the game then?
