Just read that Jurrah will play for the Port Magpies in the SANFL next season, and that the Power will also assist in his injury rehabilitation and off field issues. They said he is determined to play AFL again.

Sounds like he'll be back on an AFL list in 2014 if he can get everything sorted.

If Jurrah's case gets thrown out and he tears up the SANFL will other clubs respect the work Port has put into him or just jump in and grab him?

With a player of Jurrah's talent, hard to see other clubs playing nice with Port and letting them pick him up cheaply. In saying that, who knows...

Shannon Taylor was a big one considering where he was rated last year. Yarran also missed out.

What does Shane Nelson have to do, to get picked up?

Poor kid.

I know. Handled last years rejection so well and then went on to dominate in the state league at only 19 and still can't get a rookie spot.

Yep feel very bad for Shane Nelson, everything I have seen and heard from him this year showed how much he was trying to improve his perceived deficiencies...unfortunately he can't work on his height.

Really hope he comes out and dominates next year, if he continues to do so a team will pick him up eventually. Remember, hes only 19.

I'm not really surprised that Garlett was overlooked, off-field discipline is becoming more and more important to clubs and unless you are a top 3 talent, clubs aren't willing to take the risk on a player who could create off-field distractions. Hopefully he takes this as a wake-up call and pulls it together next year.

Luckily for all the players who missed out, it's becoming a lot easier for older players to be given a chance in recent years with many getting a shot on rookie lists so it's not all over if you miss out in your first year like it often was in the past.

Nelson is taller than Kane Mitchell, a better kick and a much better inside player. Id much rather Nelson than Mitchell, yet Mitchell gets picked.

Lowrie will probably do similar things next year at league level as Nelson did this year.

Needs to work on his inside game and his pace of the mark, but he's got great endurance, a good kick, strong body and can kick a goal.

I really expected, after everything that was said about them before the drafts, that Rodda and Nelson would be selected by someone. Oh well, maybe next year.

Kyle Hartigan missed out in the last 3 drafts and got drafted today so it is not the end of the world for the guys who missed out this year.

From the WAFL i think Garlett's the biggest name. Top 5 National draft pick on talent but cant get his head right off field. His had his WAFL break out year in 2012. Needs a big one again next year and to pull his head in off field

Feel really sorry for Shane Nelson. Kid cant take a break at the moment

Nick Rodda missed out this year but he'll be back again i'm sure

Ben Saunders??? Did he end up getting selected in the National Draft?

What happened to Hayden Jolly?

Thought Carlton were the only team who overlooked players after asking them to train.

Needs to get out of WA and away from his mates.

I believe clubs will shy away from taking Jurrah out of his family comfort zone, with is now embedded in South Australia.

Pretty much leaves him for Port or the crows
