Very true. Unfortunately the results are what they are and much (not all) of the accountability must sit with the recruiting team.
It's a tough job.

You're trying to choose which is going to be the best omelette, when all you can do is select an egg.

Re-sign the fringe players we delisted to open up 6 draft spots.
Fair enough. Just need to hope no one does a Hugh Greenwood.

Dogs will gladly take Payne if you need points and list spots. Do you think he’s available or requires despite Andrews, Adams and Gardiner?

harry lemmey not in twomeys top 25.
Not shocking, had a poor Champs and with the interrupted season he's had just hasn't had the opportunity to present big numbers, hopefully he can just tear the U18s apart in the last part of the season
Yep I would happily take Lemmey / Scully if we trade Taranto / Hopper for a mid - late teens pick at the Giants
I'd rather not, happy with Cadman early and then some mids to replace the out going ones, and Konstanty of course

melbourne will be coming hard for Cadman with the picks we get for Jackson. Most likely moving well up the order

PMBangers, I'm thinking / hoping we end up with a pick somewhere in the 20-40 range once everything is said and done. Feels like there could be a few KPF options in that range but what about small / general forwards? Konstanty off your mainboard is at 19, anyone else of note?
If you touch Konstanty I'll gut you like a fish. Charlie Clarke is a good option though

All I'm hearing is I need to email Wallsy to let him Konstanty is target number 1...

Would you have him as a top 20 lock then?
Not sure about a lock, but I think he's in the conversation from around 15 onwards

PMBangers not sure how much of Jai Culley's first couple of games you've seen, but are you able to get a better understanding of where he might've fallen in the ND if he didn't nominate for the mid-season draft/has your opinion on this changed as a result of seeing him play senior footy?

I maintain he probably would've been a 20-30 pick, rare to see players over 18 go much higher

Random questions!

Where do you rate James Van Es and Darcy Jones? I thought they both looked really impressive from the little I saw of the championships.

Why is Hollands dropping?

Can Busslinger play a contested lockdown role?

Do you rate Blake Drury as a contested pressure forward?

Questions skewed towards ports needs as we have a lack of tall defenders and small forwards...and another mid would help. I cant see us passing on Phillipou if we have the chance.

Cheers.

Van Es raised himself a little bit for me, showed a bit more athleticism than he had done in NAB League and was probably the KPD of the tournament after Hayes, still more of a late second selection for me given his lack of damage on the rebound and in transition, but someone I see being a reliable lockdown player at the next level, maybe a bit like a Phil Davis. Jones I'm high on and always have been, but his size just doesn't give a lot of confidence as a midfielder at the next level, I think he'll be able to adjust to a small forward role but I'm not sure he'll go top 30 unless we see him play that role in the latter part of the season, but if he's going to be playing WAFL Seniors I assume we'll see it plenty.

Why is Hollands dropping?
He's not for me!
Im assuming some people just expected more from him in terms of numbers though, can't say fir sure but I think he's a 7-15 selection currently

Can Busslinger play a contested lockdown role?

Do you rate Blake Drury as a contested pressure forward?
Yes to both, Busslinger is better with some freedom obviously but has shown he's more than capable one-on-one.
Drury has had more impact in the middle but will have to play as a forward for a fair chunk of his AFL Games I'm expecting, tough at it and smart player so should fit in easily enough

Bailey Humphrey just played an elite game in his comeback from injury, one that was close to top 20 prior to his knee complaint and may shoot into a lot with the NAB League finals and Country v Metro game in September
