None of them should have been anything wtf were we thinking lets be edgy bold new and exciting I mean **** if you could wind back the clock I doubt anyone would want these designs let alone the Power nick... farking 90's man
On a certain level I agree with you but there were political issues we needed to work with. All eyes were on us at the time and there was no way we would have been allowed to slide something through that was too close to the PBs.
In a way, the journey we’ve been on in regards to guernsey design has been the most advantageous for (potentially) ending up with the PBs as one of our official strips.
If we’d gone hard for Pordalaide Pirates with black and silver, as an example, we would have had the same issues with the “not the same club” but less of an opportunity to mesh the two brands together as we’ve done since OneClub.
Besides all this, that left side guernsey was vastly under utilised in our early afl period. It’s a good design and distinct from anything else in the comp. it was also very well received when we revived it in the last year or so.
