Ken has shown with the correct support he can have a strong game style and push in fins, we were unlucky in 14 but kicking skills did catch us out in the end, Eg first quarter wastage in pre lim.

I have confidence with the correct support around him he’s okay.

Why we whinge? Because some of the worst umpiring performances in recent memory involve Port

Oh man that buddy on. "He missed it...ahhh...he saw it"

The issue is that whenever the club gets heat it isn't focused on the gameplan which where it needs to be, but rather players and skill errors, injuries and lack of depth, etc

The above link didnt point the finger at anyone or anything, it just said the Club as a whole had underperformed.

The Roovolution poaching Walsh was a massive thing
What could have been.

I’ve said it before, surely you don’t gift the bloke a 4 year deal without a clause regarding making the top 8 (in the position he was in) If we end up 9th it wouldn’t surprise me if he did get the sack, but all the chat about assistant changes makes me think otherwise.

There is little doubt there is problems with our assistants.

However I would sack a managing director, as I’ve had to do twice this year, for lying. To claim we have ready ruck options was a lie.

He has failed with squad planning in regards to rucks and in shifting Dixon into the ruck he has destroyed Dixon’s kicking. Dixon’s kicking may never recover as his muscles and hip ligaments would no doubt have changed. Take a look at Dixon’s set shot and you will see his leg swings across and under the ball, rather than through it. His hips are stressed, probably shot.

Someone at the club has to grow some balls and sack Ken or take responsibility from him. At the very least ban him from selecting Neade in the forward line and Amon anywhere.

Indeed, that one by Roos didn't blame any part specifically, but it would be nice to go a little deeper and turn the heat up. Roos was accurate but also vague enough that it's something that Ken could agree with.

9th is disastrous because change isn't coming. We're not paying out 3 years worth of Hinkley's contract. For better or worse we have to hope we find a place where we can mitigate our issues and win.
It won't change being stuck with Hinkley, but would increase the likely hood of the much needed assistant coach turnover. And also force a harsher look at our list management (especially of rucks).

Limping into finals, to go out in week 1 or week 2, will just lead to the injuries to Ryder and Jonas being used as excuses and not much changing.
My order would be:
1. Flag (duh)
2. Competitive in prelim.
3. 9th
4. Lose week 1
5. Lose week 2

Unfortunately 3 - 5 ordered as they are to put the heat on KT to drop the casual for a bit and breath some fire.

I'm doubtful that many media personalities see enough of us/care enough to do an in-depth analysis. Its easier to look at the win-loss column and make a sweeping statement.

How did it go from putting Dixon in ruck a few times to "the destruction of Dixon's body" by Ken?

Agree, we lack the ability to pull off this gameplan & if anything it exacerbates skill level problems etc.

Paul Roos labeled us "probably the biggest under achievers of the last 5 years. Not sure why he used the word probably. Hope people of the club read this.

I think we need a kick up the arse and I hope the club takes this sort of criticism on board.

But I'm not sure what makes us such monumental underachievers. There are clear deficiencies in our playing list and we don't have a genuine star player according to the Vic media. Oh sure they will say Robbie Gray is right up there but when push comes to shove, Devon Smith is apparently a better player.

As far as umpiring whingeing goes, plenty of clubs do it and we probably have more justification than most.

I would think Geelong have been a much bigger underachiever over the past 5 years.

I'm actually glad there is some heat on the coaches and let's face it the article is about the coaching panel. You get what you deserve. We have underachieved with this list. For too long our coaches have ducked responsibility. The insanity of it all is it has been our greatest opportunity in years to win the premiership but we destroy ourselves with this WTF game plan, player selections and then playing people out of position. It is horrible to watch and I am sure it is just as horrible to play.

We could still win the whole damn thing if we allowed our players to be brave, move the ball quickly, kick goals instead of handballing away responsibility but our coaching directives seems to stifle the life and joy out of the game. I feel for Watts, Rocky, and Mots as to what they thought they were coming to and the reality of what we are is quite different.

Nobody is gonna work out this gameplan, we're safe
