This is where I have a problem with any finals series with a double chance.

West Coast finished above Collingwood.
West Coast played Collingwood in a final, and beat them.
Now, to prove themselves as the AFL premiers, they have to play Collingwood and beat them again. And not only that, but they have to play them at Collingwood's home ground, because reasons.

Why? How is that in any way fair? How have West Coast not already earned the right to finish above Collingwood? If Collingwood square the ledger with West Coast at 1-1 next week, why should that be enough to crown them ahead of West Coast as AFL premiers?

Lucky for Collingwood there is no fairness in this competition. Otherwise they would've had to go to Perth to take on the Eagles in a GF.

Anyway, worked for Richmond last season, hopefully works for them next Saturday.

What a shit game this is.
I don’t know if it’s because it’s already blown out and over, or because of how shit the crowd is. Is it a prelim with two teams playing for a GF place?

And there you go the school yard “let’s go eagles” and “eagles” clap clap clap “eagles”..yawwn.

Similar to the very old and wacky VFL system.

Prelim final - Top team gets to play the team that qualified for this match, if the top team wins the season is finished and they're awarded the flag.
Grand final - If top team loses - they play a rematch to decide who is the premier.

Even taking the MCG out of it, it's still not really fair. The MCG factor is just the shit sprinkles on top of the shit sandwich.

The problem can be solved by the mcg being no clubs home ground and used only for the GF, and big games like Anzac round. AFL should build another boutique stadium in Melbourne, and “move” one of the crappier Vic clubs to Tasmania. Not like they don’t have the money.

Neither set of supporters will be happy tonight. Eagles fans complaining about airfares, Demons supporters upset with the sudden bump in ski chalet prices.

Because I’m getting myself as much cash and favours from the federal government as I can and the rest of you can GAGF
