Dumping Sanderson was for this very reason. Dangerfield will stay now that he has got his way.
It's a win win situation.
If he stays he will forever be known as the "star" player that runs the footy department and if he leaves it will be worthy reading the melts all over the Adelaide board.

Crows poaching Clarko... would be an act of unparalleled Machiavellian genius in today's AFL... from the usual gang of idiots*...

*Trigg and Moulton have since jumped the sinking ship.
The pillow is the most intelligent individual in that photo.

One of the weirdest and creepiest photos I have seen.

Just remember, no-one loves Danger like Danger loves Danger, he'll serve himself like he has always done. What i found most interesting is that he has distance himself from captaincy role over the last month.

If you recall back to Dangers comments earlier in the year 'as long as Sando's coaching here I'll be an AFC player' we heard a similar comment from Jr Burg about Choco & he ended up leaving anyway. ......
For those that don't recall;

Free agent Danger signs fade as star says he's keen to stay a Crow

..... he will turn his back on free agency next year and recommit to Adelaide, saying he "loves" the Crows and is happy to stay as long as Brenton Sanderson remains coach. ...

I'm betting that, as we speak, someone somewhere at the postage stamp on the parade is dusting off the failed "Bluelegs" AFL bid from 1994.

It can't be long now before they start agitating for a takeover/rebranding of the AFC to make it more like a "traditional" club.

I cannot comprehend Crows supporters claiming this week as a victory over us as they have taken the spotlight off us. Erm, okay, if having your club in turmoil >>> playing in a prelim final with no over the top media distractions so you can quietly go about your business is how you see it, rightio then.

The Kool-Aid sales spike in Adelaide this week will confound sales managers in the US for years to come.

Given that Dangerfield seems to like the spotlight being on him, my guess is that he has already in his own mind decided he is definitely staying at the Crows but will not sign so the speculation around him continues.

The longer he takes to sign, the more it will look like he is going to leave.

Once the false reality of him leaving reaches the maximum heights of hysteria, he will sign and come off as the great loyal servant and around great guy.

Why do I come to this conclusion?

Because he would of observed the adoration that Travis Boak received and still gets commended for when he decided to stay at Port despite the a million reasons why he could of left.

The big difference here though, Travis Boak is a genuine good bloke. I cant say the same thing for the other guy.

So I googled Dew's missus.

That guy is a legendary player. He should be writing books on how to pick up 10's when you are a portly fellow with chubby thighs.
You must be young. Most of us here have marvelled about Dew's serial romantic successes for a long time now.

It would also be a massive step backwards in her rising TV career.

So that's something else to consider.

Watch your back Jane Doyle!

:D
Crows would immediately appoint her as an ambassador. .

I agree, its absolutely mind blowing. Whilst I am happy that we are moving forward, there is no joy in the fact we got to this position to start with. Port would be loving being in a Prelim and having slightly less pressure on them.

Also, no way Clarkson is coming here. Would be happy enough with Dew. Once saw him with T Palmer at West Lakes, she was special.

Rowie and Bone and Penertbethy have been at their shocking "best" this week.

Just thought you would all be keen for my views.;)

So who were the characters in "... a delegation of leading players (who were) all prepared to walk if Sanderson stayed ..."? If it doesn't come out officially speculation is just going to name anyone/everyone who is any good on the bovines' list.
