And now GC making long-term (ie. big-biggish) offer for Hallahan. So Hawks could get O'Rourke for unders then offload Hallahan for overs in one trade period. They are winning.

And more importantly, if GC have to trade for Hallahan then they might be inclined to take on an extra second rounder for a certain ruckman ...

Yeah. Why would a player want to go somewhere where he'll actually get games, prolong his career and can better set himself up financially in the last few years of his career. Don't worry about logic.

**** you're a genius. Have you applied for a job at the corporation yet? I heard Poociuto is going to be cleaning the place out.

You guys are as delusional as the Essendopers.
Stop and think for a moment just how bad the Camry Crows franchise image must be if players would rather go to a club embroiled in doping turmoil like Essendon.

He'll have more opportunities at Essendon, in Melbourne, during his AFL carreer and after his AFL career then he ever will at a shit franchise like the Camry Crows and a place stuck forever in stagnation like Adelaide.

Maybe Poociuto didn't offer him enough, maybe he could have offered to cut him on the pub and hotel :drunk:

Oh what a feeling, it's a pooo-volution! :straining:

People, please.

Adelaide were never seriously interested in recruiting Jonathan Giles. Why would they want a reject of both Port Adelaide and Greater Western Sydney? Furthermore, when and where would he break into Adelaide's senior side? Their backline is in All Australian form, their midfield is elite, and their forward line is the envy of the competition.

They knew full-well that Jonathan was not good enough for them, but with several other, lesser clubs than theirs still in the market for a tall, the time was ripe for Ricciuto to devise and implement another one of his brilliant plans. Using their influential position as a powerhouse, they fooled those other, lesser clubs into believing that Jonathan was worth recruiting. 'He must be good if Adelaide are interested in him', they would have thought.

How silly of those Essendon minnows to fall for it.

Now, with a competitor taken care of, Adelaide are free to steal Luke Lowden from under Port Adelaide's nose. He kicked three goals on debut for the back-to-back premiers and has been strongly linked to their cross-town rival throughout the off-season.

He must be good if Port Adelaide are interested in him, right?

Adelaide: 2. Port Adelaide: 0.

What Club voss at

hypothetical
J ttengove for our third rounder?
Was never pick 2"value
a good sanfl finals campaign heavily inflated his price IMo before that we were looking at him sliding IRRC

Would you do it?

as long as we've got at least one of the ruck/forward targets we're looking at, I'm not against using the 3rd rounder for a very speculative upgrade on Logan or Stevenson. The failed medical drops Trengove's value massively, he now has a value less than that of an "afl standard" midfielder because of the risk.

pros: aged just 23 at the start of next season, sounds a bit like the Polec story

cons: much higher risk than Polec, a notorious injury, may not play at all and retire after one year.

"middle ground": if he plays on, stuck at "afl standard" pace, well we've already got Ben Newton.

conclusion: In Burgo We Trust!

SEN reporting that Geelong are offering pick 21 for Rhys Stanley

hahahaha

stanley has played 1 season of ok football , and 3 seasons of below average is he even out there i couldnt tell football.

can probably go on to become a serviceable player , but gee saints are doing well if they get pick 21 for him.

Bwahahahahahaha now petrenko comes put and says his axing by the crows was "brutal". Oh man, they are desperate to dispel their stench of mediocrity and it's hilarious.

Well if I was a highly rated VIC draftee drafted interstate, I'd be getting Pickering as my manager.

If I was GWS, I wouldn't play Boyd at all in the seniors next year and let him run water for the 2's instead.

i would like that dogs list if they managed to get boyd.

(im not sure they will get him , but it does force gws on the back foot ,especially in trading for griffen)

if the dogs can land boyd for griffen (maybe swap picks ?)

then draft one of lever (key back) or wright as a ruck their team would look pretty good on paper. still more needed but a very good base.

Such tough.

"I was in the meeting for about two minutes … I was describing it to the boys on the weekend at [David Mackay's] wedding, I was saying I went in there to touch gloves with Phil and he ended up giving me the one-two straight in the guts," he said with a smile.

"It was pretty brutal and I understand that – I hold nothing against Phil or David Noble at all – that's the industry we're in."

How are the Dees, Saints and Carlton not moving heaven and earth to get in on the action?

I mean they probably are putting feelers out behind the scenes, but jeepers. This'd be the equivalent of a 20 year old Pavlich definitely wanting to come home, nominating one of the SA clubs and the other one not being bothered.

This. So much this!

I thought the same with O'Rourke to Hawthorn. How can none of the 9 others clubs be interested in a #2 pick and also having something better to trade with?

Because the shenanigans that we don't see makes it a waste for time for them.

Still strange however. A bit like the Gunston deal.

Walsh delisted Petrenko.

They really are putting their house in order. :(

Yeah, it's disappointing. Petrenko and Johnstone are the quintessential "tease" players that clubs hold onto much longer than they should.

Petrenko kicks a goal against Port --> 2 year extension!

What was really funny was the Saints fan who posted on the Herald Sun site asking if Geelong would add a sweetener to get the deal done.
