Daymn.. how did Collingwood end up getting Dayne Zorko out of that trade? :P

Bickley all but getting the sack with Walsh moving him out of the coaches box to a lesser role most likely orange peeler or waterboy lol.

Don't worry Bicks there's always your old job at Channel 9 to fall back on.. oh that's right they've already got a legit AFL great doing sports, I guess he could always try out for Aiston's old job at 10 but Nick Butler is doing a fine job there so looks like Centrelink might be the go.

Will replace McDermott at 5aark.

Just few calls based on recent convos here...

I have no faith in gws or gold coast being flag contenders in the next 5 years...

Bulldogs they just fail no matter what...rubbish leadership in all facets...

Brisbane's midfield is so over rated and slow..the forwards the backs....lolol....supercoach team at best...

That bickley dog I hope gets whats coming to him...

Our best mate is in Mofra's bottom 50 again

Player 29- Ben Jacobs

Pictured: Ben Jacobs misunderstands a request for some "rimming"

Ben Jacobs is mostly a professional substitute who plays between 1 to 1.5 quarters every few weeks for the North Melbourne Football Club.
A former first round draft pick, Port decided that he would be better off playing in the VFL than in the SANFL. North wouldn't offer a decent pick for him and took him in the nation draft again at pick 37.

A Brighton grammar boy, his profile picture indicates he is the AFL player most likely to pronounce his home suburb as "Brah-tahn"

Some have described Jacobs as a "natural inside midfielder" which, for most fringe mids, means slowish and not particularly skilled - although in fairness, most inside mids will manage more than the 1.4 tackles per game Ben did in 2014. He managed to play a final against Essendon, getting subbed off after 6 kicks. Given a week off, he played in a losing preliminary final like many champions of the game do, except he only had 6 touches in a performance described by SEN as "Not sure he’s up to it. Struggled to get involved and had zero impact".

Given North actually have decent inside midfielders on their list (well, the Pies have one of them now), Ben played elsewhere (mostly HBF) and showed he remains a "work in progress" much like the Myki system had "a few teething issues". Finding a spot on the ground for him will be an issue: North have even tried to turn him into a mascot, hoping he has some marketing attraction:

Pictured: Wooden and unconvincing, but he is only a cardboard cut-out. Jacobs could learn a thing or two.

In fairness to Jacobs, he did perform well at VFL level and is a possibility to climb off the Bottom 50 canvass and promote himself to the level of "not a completely wasted pick second time round".

In the meantime: welcome to the Bottom 50 Ben and make sure moomsie & dadsie pack the sunscreen for yachting this summer.

Some reports that up to $1m of Griffens' salary will be paid by the Bulldogs over 4 years. If this is correct, whose salary cap does it come under?

Bulldogs.

Sounds like bullshit to me. The CBA and AFL rules only requires a the old club to pay part of the contract fod the period remaining in the contract. The Bulldogs would only have to pay for 2015.

The AFL only allow clubs to pay players on their list or the situation above. They dont allow for the Bulldogs paying for 3 years service when he was never been contracted to the bulldogs

Did seem a bit unlikely to me. It would allow for a huge amount of backdoor shenanigans if they allowed it. To tell the truth, I'm still wondering where the Bulldogs have got the money to pay Boyd. What are they paying their other players in, Chris Grant 20-cent pieces?

Chris Grant was the original 50c

Cooney going to the Dons makes you wonder why Western Bulldogs have moved on 2 of their best senior players who appear to have had their feathers ruffled by the senior coach AND got rid of McCartney...

Isn't it one or the other?

I'm confused with the Giles trade, Essendon have got him seriously cheaply. GWS are just giving away players for free. They've basically managed to get pick 17 + Cooney & Giles through Ryder.

There seems to be a good bit of chest beating that goes on in the trade period. Port offer pick 17 for Ryder, it's rejected. After a few days Port add pick 37 and it's still rejected. Then on the final day of the trade period it's accepted. It's like buying a house except it always seems to be the vendor and not the buyer who tries to get in a better position by ignoring the first offer.
Hawthorn tried it on the same way with Mitch Hallahan. GCS offered 47 and 49 and Hawthorn rejected this but eventually accepted it. Although they didn't waste days arguing about it.

How's the Crows 'ruthless stealth black ops' trading going? Trade periods almost over & they couldn't even land Cheney.

Giles goes to Essendon for peanuts & they can't even get one back up ruck when Lowden, Grimley, Gorringe are still in limbo.

They could've easily cut our lunch with Gorringe but for all the stealth talk it sounds like they'll end up with nothing.

They're still to busy jerking each other off after their "stealth black ops above top secret mission" to get Walsh.

At Essendon Giles will get a game every week at least until Bellchambers returns from any ASADA holiday.

At the Cows he would have been in the Angus Graham position.

Essendon knew Ryder wouldn't be playing for them again, so they may as well have traded Giles in first, except that would betray to the world they are starting to get concerned about their ability to field a 22 in R1 next year.
