I don't think De Goey went to the right school.

Actually, I don't think De Goey went to any school.
I guess there's a special school in Collingwood, which gives you specialised training on how to be a knob. At least a couple have graduated from the school with high distinctions.

God I'll laugh when he goes too far and cooks Adelaide's list.
That's just a rehash from the Brukie and Burgo podcast, series 2 episode 1, he does with Dr Peter Brukner and I wrote about on page 159. As I wrote in there, - I think Burgo has learnt something compared to his time at Port - ie he has learnt you can't treat all players the same as he talked about different programs for Petracca vs Langdon.

Episode 2 with Matthew Innes former WA and Vic fast bowler and last 6 years, the Bulldogs fitness head after a couple of years in other roles there, was a pretty good listen.

I follow the #AFL on Twitter to keep up with latest happenings, etc but today it's filled with heaps of tweets identical to this one - it must be generated each time a sheep activist adds their name to the petition...

I wouldn't think that signing an online petition would make you a sheep OR an activist.

If you play for Port you can be stood down indefinitely despite being charged with nothing.

It’s a funny old league.

Saw this video on the right hand side of something I was watching so had a look. I remember the game, but have completely forgotten that Jakovich played in it. 17 years of age and played for WA against the Vics and was their Teal Cup captain. Loved that he refused to swap jumpers with Gary Ablett Snr after the match as he wanted to keep his first state jumper.

A few months later he was picked up by WCE before the 1990 draft commenced, as one of WCE's two concession/zone picks, along with Mitchell White, debuts mid season Rd 12 in 1991, in a very strong WCE side that went 13-0 and 19-3 and plays in the QF, SF, PF and GF as the starting CHB.

When was the last time a big strong man size KPP was drafted and made an immediate impact in his first season?? Pavlich in the 1999 draft?

The video was from October 2017 celebrating 40 years since the first state of origin game.

I'm all for taking care of people's mental health, but if a potential draftee is unable to cope with a skin-fold test, you have to question whether they're ready to enter an elite sports environment with all of the attention that brings.

If they can't handle a little groping how are they ever gonna play for Richmond?

His brother could play a bit too and as for Peter Matera in full flight... sheesh could he own a game off the wing.

Sooo so many brilliant (or as Matthew Lloyd would say brie ant) players from WA. For no particular reason Winston Abraham caught my eye

Had a chuckle at Dimma in #3 :joycat:

For every Will Gould and Harry Schoenberg that slip through, there's probably dozens of young men whose dreams are shattered for the sake of one too many sponsor's products...
Clayton Oliver must have missed his skinfold test pre draft. He was super chubby when drafted, but looking so slim & trim now

I have to wonder how much influence the introduction of the AFLW has had on this? It's conspicuous there, when you look at any AFLW page, that it's got age and height, but not weight.

Is it skinfold tests or fat % testing in general they aren't allowed to do? If the former, then given the money in the AFL, just give all draftees DEXA scans, which are more accurate and tell more (bone density etc) anyway.
