Review Port roll over against an actual club

Put JHF in cotton wool for the remainder of the season.

If his shoulder is troubling him get it fixed now so that he is ready to go day one of pre season.

While Boak was one of the better players last night he needs to make way for the younger generation and that time starts now.

It is all about next year now.

But I am fearful Hinkley will still coach for his own selfish benefit without an eye to the future.

A solid game by Sinn. For me his best moment came when be beat Cameron in a one on one contest on the half forward line I think in the 3rd qtr. Sinn was able to match his speed and agility.

He can shut down dangerous small forwards plus his kick is a weapon. He’s establishing himself as a regular in our defence.

The number 1 plus for me from last night's game was the team continued fight against the odds despite losing 3 key players when they could have given up and copped an absolute flogging.

The 2nd was the combo of Georgiadis and Lukosius looked extremely promising, with Luko's ability to tonk a goal from way down town not only very difficult to defend but also how a player with booming kick like his can change the course of a game, so if Marshall can stay healthy next season having the luxury of 3 tall forwards would give Josh Carr plenty to work with, but obviously a quality goal kicking small to work at their feet is still a necessity to complete the package.

Re the negatives, If SPP has done another ACL as feared the list managers will need to find another ready to go bulldozer type as I doubt there is anyone else on the current list who could play his role, particularly against the more physical teams.

The major negative for me though was Hinkley's ridiculous lolly tooth grin BS, which unfortunately epitomised what a joke the club has become under kokhead's limp wristed `leadership,' but now that kern's way too long coaching stint is coming to a thankful end the wick needs to be turned up big time on that merchant banker imposter, and the sooner he is sent back to Sydney to be with his chardonnay sipping mates and is replaced by a genuine Port Adelaide person who can return the club to its core values the better!

Every decision a club should make is serving "does this help to win our next premiership?"

If the club is serious (which it's not), anyone playing injured should be getting their end of year cartilage ops now. Jackson, Lorenz and Morales should be playing now. If a line hasn't been put through Soldo he also needs to play to see where we are in ruck.
Boaky is the only player that should be doing an off field role at the club and apart from a farewell game which he absolutely deserves, it's time to make way for a younger player.
Hinkley should be fired into the sun but if they feel they need to give him a farewell game, make it this week then let Josh get used to the big chair and the bowl of lolly teeth
The 2026/2027 crack at a flag needs to start today. Our depth is shallow but there's plenty to work with in our top 20

Reasonable effort . It was probably a stretch to think we’d win this one but we did drop off from halfway through the first till half way through the second and they clicked into top gear . Injuries didn’t help and devastating for SPP .
Great games by Rozee and Butters and Luko was good ,
Boak Wines and Drew although decent players to me they as a collective are too slow and one dimensional, we need at least one replaced with a more dynamic player .
I’d be persisting with Jackson , he attacks the contest quite well .
Allir needs marking school again .

Decent effort in the last 3 quarters, but that first quarter was absolutely pathetic. I can’t even remember our mids touching the ball or even bothering to defend.

I recall a spot where Brisbane had 5 players running into the 50 like an aircraft in formation and we had 4 mids standing behind them not even bothering to chase.

I hate the honourable loss view, especially in the back end of a coach's 13 year stint, but the fact we actually continued to fight it out last night was at least a better sign. The first quarter capitulation in ten minutes after a decent start was typical and inexcusable again. Losing Esava after his career best form is frustrating, Miles having to go back to cover hurt, SPP is obviously devastating and I'm not sure how the structure with Dante would've gone over the night, I hope it's not too serious.

Ken's pisstake antics in the box, well that's ridiculous. I can't even say I'm surprised at this point, the club thinking that's acceptable is the bigger problem.

That 15 minute burst by Brisbane was appalling defence by us, the players just stood around and watched.

But Brisbane did that to Adelaide this year here and missed every. single. shot. on. goal. Couldn't miss against us.

It's not an excuse but sometimes the footy gods refuse to give you a break and they kicked us hard in the teeth last night.

They were cohesive and crisp.
We were uncohesive and uncrisp.

THE GOOD

We never gave up the entire game!!
Powell-Pepper working more in the midfield
The Keg's skill.
Aliir was awesome down back I thought.
Mitch and Luko.
Hugh Jackson doing stuff.

In the last couple of weeks, I've seen good ball movement from defence with players working together which looks like set plays. That has been awesome.

THE BAD

The Keg's gut
Kicking into F50 with a man and kicking directly to a Lion in the first quarter. Boak, Bergman, Butters, Bergman, Drew
The Hornet
Jase Burgoyne

THE UGLY

Hinkley is a clown of the highest order.
Going in way too tall.
Aliir on Cameron. Just ugly.
Those injuries.
Leaving a lot of goals on the grass through bad kicking into F50 and fumbliness.
Those songs are the friggin' worst. What a lot of hicks.
1st Quarter Run. Lion's mids and half forwards run harder and together.

I think that aircraft formation play occurred more than once in the first quarter unfortunately

Probably why Ken needed to put on his own mouth guard in the box.

Could t believe it Baileys kick landed end on and went over Aliirs head I mean come on just one of those sinks the Crows and they’re suddenly not “The rEaL DeaLlll1!!!!!!”

We were never in it after the first ten minutes, they just did enough each time we got close to maintain a gap.
Technically, the game was over at quarter time. We continued to play but the Lions always had an answer and sometimes they were cheap answers.

If we weren't fumbly and quasi-skilled, we could've blown them out of the water. A bit of ticker too when the going gets tough.

The question still remains, even after the fact we didn't get blown out. Why are we conceding 8 goals in a row? The root cause of us turning to piss whenever a team flex's needs to be solved. Coaching, gameplan, skills whatever. The playing group and leaders themselves need to be held accountable equally.

When Sweet keeps hitting out to the Lions’ mids advantage, kinda difficult to defend.

They are just well coached and know what they are doing.

We can look rudderless because we are poorly coached.

Hopefully Carr can instill a good gameplan and get everyone on the same page. Some accountability wouldn't go astray either.

How good were Luko’s big bombs.

What a weapon that is
I’ve not understood the criticism surrounding his recruitment nor what was given up for him (aside from the Atkins shenanigans). Sure he will frustrate at times but it’s so refreshing seeing a forward in a Port guernsey be able to kick long and straight. Huge upgrade on Finsprayson and upgrade on Marshall.
