Pos and Neg from the derby

Having the game on the hard-drive is a real positive.
Indeed. I'm watching the second half right now!
Not a bad effort from our mob. WC threw the absolute kitchen sink at us and we mostly weathered it.
Sure we gave up some shots on gaol on the second but if they'd sunk any of those it would have come back to the centre and re-set.
Great to see Lachie play the first of many BOG efforts. Is going to be an absolute star this kid.
Balla was good too.
Sandi immense in his milestone.
I'll take it.

Mayne's form is also a bit of a negative. Did very little up forward again.

Crozier also doesn't seem to be coming on much. Another 13-14 disposal game with no scoreboard impact.

Any injury to McPharlin is a worry at this stage of his career.
Looked alright, was good in the first term and forced to play back in the second half. Crozier was disappointing, should be dropped although we need two small forwards and we haven't got anyone else (don't bother mentioning Simpson, hes a while away).

West Coast haven't pursued a WA only policy though.

Gaff for instance is Victorian, and its pretty worrying for West Coast how ordinary he is. Barely sighted until the last five minutes.

You know, I just looked at their list and **** me a lot of their 'C graders' are WA guys - the guys the have too many of ala Hutchings, Brennan, McGinnity, Wilson. Main lists have 19 WA players for us and 26 for them (this years ND recruits included).

Maybe a little too much WA focus for them has turned in to a bad thing? That's only really speculation though.

Sutcliffe went ok, but his kicking is average at best. I get worried when the ball is in his hands.
Sutcliffe has excellent vision, makes good decisions and is generally a penetrating and accurate kick. He is one of the least of our worries.
Runs all day, racks up the touches and does his job as a defender, and he's a 3rd year player same as Neale. Its the fact he plays like a vet that has some judging him a little harshly I reckon. Both he and Neale are miles ahead of the more highly fancied Sheridan and Crozier at this point. Absolute bargain basement draft picks.

Yep, I already knew all of that but that doesn't change the fact his kicking has gone down from last year.

Deboer's game was the biggest positive for mine.. and also Ballantyne looked like a man possessed. Strangely enough it felt like the forward line functioned quite well even though we only scored 11 goals.

Another positive.. we play that bunch of potatoes in only another short 2 months

Yep like others I saw DeBoer performance as a real positive and went a way towards us getting our forward line pressure back. Think he has put Crozier and Suban for next on the chopping block.

The original drug cheats remain our BIATCHES and have employed another cardboard cut out clueless muppet coach.

Give Simpson time - at least he makes game day adjustments :P He doesn't have a lot to work with

The thing I love most about Barlow is he takes his shots.

My highlight was Micky B's 100m gut run to be the next man to reach the contest, the sidestep and snap, and then the point to Pav to acknowledge his work in the build up.

It's always nice to be reminded that there is a place in the game for someone with plenty of footy smarts but who may not be the best pure athlete :thumbsu:

So do I, but for very different reasons. The vast majority of his kicks are one of the hardest in footy, the first clean kick out of defence. It's often under pressure and is very costly if it goes wrong. I'm nervous when anybody has to regularly take that kick - but Sutty's still ahead of many when it comes to kicking with accuracy and vision.

He's doing just fine and at his age, RTB has clearly identified him as quality and from about the middle of last year has backed him in. He's going to be 200+ game player for us and a solid one.

Main Positives.
-Zac Clarke and Pav carried big Sandi off in his 200th game.
-Zac Clarke kicks 3 goals as a tall forward.
-Zac Clarke is better than any other KPP on the Eagles list.

that is all.

As for the thread topic, well pretty obvious:

Postives are many:
- Real intention and purpose about the way we played (most) of the game. It's good to see some poise and thinking it through coming back to our game
- Much better defensive pressure pretty much right across the field
- Neale
- Clarke showing form, and just in time I reckon. Another game like last couple of weeks and I reckon RTB would have pulled the trigger and slotted Hannath back in.
- Sandi celebrating 200th game in style.

Negatives
- Injuries, apparently Dawson's could be nasty one according to RTB :(
- Mundy going uncharacteristically agricultural on Selwood (was it?). I can't see how the MRP aren't going to charge him TBH.

Negative:
- Dawson in pain. It hurrrrtsssssss.

I hope the injury isn't severe. I like Silvagni but he is no general like the teachers pet!

We NEED Dawson to be a finals contender. Get fit and fast :thumbsu:

Mundy in trouble? There's vision of him dropping Selwood off the ball.
The AFL have probably cut him a cheque behind closed doors if that's the case. Even the AwFL love seeing a Selwood, any Selwood get dropped. Or is that just me?
