positives and negatives against WCE

I'm loving our defence more and more every week mate. Waitey is really making CHB his own, Jammo is getting better with every game, and he always seems to be able to get a fist in...... to spoil. Add in the little (chicken) nugget in Browne, and Carrazzo's and Scotland's rebounding, with Banno/Walks/Bird to still come back in and its not half bad that backline.

You know what though, huge test in a few weeks against the lions. Bradshaw on fire, Brown, Corrie/Hooper/Notting etc... Big test indeed.

Each and every game is a test for us IMO,a whole new learning experience for a team that is mainly consisting of up and coming young guys.Another game under their belt is a game closer to a flag!!!

If I had to list all the positives, it would take over 4 solid pages. One player I'll mention is Bower. This guy is top-shelf talent, who has been hugely under-rated IMO. His skills and intensity are excellent. But what I really like is his obsession with taking his opponent on and looking for the high-risk-high payoff setup option. I don't care too much if he stuffs up on occasions, because that's exactly the attacking mindset you need to win flags - which of course is the only goal at Carlton. Negatives......none.

Interesting to note the Kreuzer got alot more boos than Judd. Bit harsh on the kid, I hope he realises they weren't boo'ing him per se. Rather the whole tanking/ not trading #1 pick thing. I dunno.

...we have more wins on the board than you lot, and wil the Tigers sustain it after the scond half of the season? They have been lucky with injuries, all you need is Richo to injure himself abd Wallace's purported 'genius' might start to drop...

NEGATIVES :

- third qtr fade
- butchering the footy in first qtr and 3rd qtr
- Scotland's disposal..I wish he'd tighten it up a bit, I mean he's an experienced player and gets his hands on the pill, but he needs to really hurt opposition more with disposal.
- slaughtered in the ruck. This might haunt us in ugly way against the top 4 type teams ala Geelong, Hawks etc..
- Gibbs as a defender..not sure how long this experiment will last, esp against good teams.....

POSITVES :

- Simmo getting back into it in the second half despite a shocking first half
- Carrots finding a bit of touch, but easily could have gone other way.
- Eddie Betts was really crucial in our forward line with Fev ordinary
- Browne and Bower really did nice stuff - in fact all the youngsters down back put on some nice work.
- Russll???? Seems to be evolving into a role, maybe filling Houlahan's position, but still not convinced, but the signs are looking ok - mind you it was a decimated Weagles team..but half that side are hardened finals quality players so....Hmmmmmm

If he plays this ordinary every week he'll kick a lazy 90 for the season.

Didnt think i would start a lame thread but I would just like to say well played for last night Blues people.

Your side was impressive, seemed confident in a gameplan and executed it all. Your skills have definitely improved since I last got a good look at you.

Remains to be seen what you actually beat I'm not even sure I would class our outfit as a 'team' last night but you accounted for us and thats all you can do.

Nup. It was the Carlton fans screaming KRUUUUUUUEZE. Slight difference. Don't think the crowd are clever enough to boo MK as the player we got for our apparent tanking behaviour.

It was that mindset which turned the game around in the last quarter - played on after a mark when everyone else was playing stop/start footy (had my heart in my mouth when he did, with a man only 2 metres behind), which set up the Simpson goal.

I am actually quite amazed no one has put Griggs name up so far, he was tackiling well for his size and was showing desperation in the congested situations.

Big negative on Fevola. He was a disgrace last night. Still thinks he's bigger than the game and continually gives selfish efforts putting himself before the team. The basic, schoolyard free kicks and 50m penalties he gave away were so petulant it wasn't funny. Should be dropped if he isn't suspended. The bloke is a f*cking ________.

Big positive was Twiggers... Gee she's impressive. Those glasses... oooohhhh. Very sophisticated.

The biggest positive was that at least it proves we arent a bottom side anymore. We have a reasonable percentage for once and a rather handy get out of jail free card in Chris Judd. For once I actually think we cant win the spoon this year.

McKinley has been the Eagles' best forward so far this season, having kicked 14 goals in the previous 4 games. To keep him goalless & to 7 disposals was a fantastic performance by Jamo. The improvement of both Jamo & Bower has been an important factor in us conceding less than 100 points in 3 of the last 4 games.

I think Jamo may be a little taller than listed, from what I saw he isn't much smaller than Kennedy or Setanta (199). He is listed at 193 from memory, I would dare say he looks to be around the 196+ ish. He is everything you want from a FB IMO.

The defense is really starting to settle and know each other.

outside round 1 a few years ago vs rich this was stevo best game for the club.. i have been critical of him big time... i think the penny has dropped with his work rate... well done mate
