Pretty sure you are wrong ;) It was confirmed by Katrina Gill today that he signed on for 2 years last year when his contract was announced. The club just didn't say the length at the time.
Posted this info last week when it was brought up ;) Glad Katrina's put that one to bed.

Not many around for trade though
There's a beauty in the draft in mature ager [22] Michael Hartley, 197cm, 105kegs, who really shone in the VFL this year and last, or they may opt to use on of our high picks on impressive youngster Keiran Collins though I doubt it personally.

Wallice just said on Trade Radio that when talking to Noble a couple of days ago, Noble indicated that they wanted to keep picks 9 and 13 to get two young players at the higher end of the draft which sounds like we're not in the market for pick 5 based on that.
Depends how many picks we want to use. Upgrading one of those to pick 5 is possible in a package (and according to AFL points ratings is fair and achievable).

If we want Talia, he will likely be delisted after trade period
Yeah, the if the dogs don't trade him and don't offer a contract they'll be forced to delist him making him qualify as a DFA.

I guess they could offer him a lowball offer he'd obviously refuse to say they technically did try to retain him. That would allow them to force a trade for him to get where he wants or risk the draft.

That said, I think they'd need to be careful with that. If they were offering an insultingly low offer knowing he'd reject it just to game the DFA system I'm sure the players association wouldn't be too thrilled. Conversely if the offer is around market value he might call their bluff and accept.

How about the Geelong delistee who went around for Essendon in the pre-season??? Does that sound right?

People do realize the points value of draft picks is entirely different to the actual draft value year to year?
Not for teams using picks for academy/father son ;)

It also gives a guide to what is considered fair. The points have been based on previous pick swaps in part so on ave should be a reasonable indication.

Of course it will vary year to year and club to club (pick 32 may have 0 value for us and go unused but to Geelong it would be their best pick).

The key here is pick swaps can be genuine win win trades in the right scenario and I think this year we could be in a position to benefit

According to "the list manager" Noble said they wouldnt be trading for pick 5 as he thinks we are better suited to have two picks and not one. For a change I agree with him. Would much prefer a Milara and Burton than a Francis or Parish.
I would rather have two chances at getting a gun than one at this point.

Sydney wont allow him to be delisted. He will be traded. Everyone is just waiting for him to be cleared by the AFL integrity unit before they put forward offers.
But he wont be delisted.
Haven't they effectively already said that Talia will not be a Dogs player next year? Seems like a mutual agreement by all parties that they don't want him there. So unless someone wants to pay for him, he will become a Delisted Free Agent.

The List Manager likes having two bites of the cherry to get Tambling as well as Deledio

It's a bit of a win-win. We have a very good history of early 10s picks, but we've also never had a top 5 pick before. So you'd back our history to make good out of either situation.
I don't know, we tend to get all flustered with anything under the pick of 10. Just look at Angwin and Meesen. Can we really trust them with such responsibility?:eek::eek::D

GO YOU CROW BOYS
I guess we're no longer of the belief that 2017 is a realistic target. Trading no one in of note would imply we've got a brand new 3 or 4 year plan.

Disappointing. Feel like now was the time to pull the trigger, considering where our list is at.
Was always headed that way if we didn't get a ready made replacement (or 2) for Danger. New coach only exacerbates things.

If we don't trade in anyone bar Hamption/Gore... I'm more disappointed in that outcome than the Danger trade.
