No defensive action in Matts game at the moment. 1 way runner and very unaccountable at contests.
Would be the number 1 thing for him to work on for mine.
Yeah that's correct.:thumbsu:

I never said he didn't have talent. I have repeatedly stated that I think he will be a good AFL footballer, with a long AFL career. The point is the comparison with Scott Thompson.

Tyson Edwards was a very good AFL player, who had a very successful and lengthy AFL career. However, he was never an elite player. This is the kind of player that I see Matt Crouch developing into.

Scott Thompson, at his peak, was truly elite. He's a multiple B&F winner, AA selection, and finished equal 4th in the Brownlow medal. That's a level above what I believe Crouch to be capable of.

Brad Crouch, on the other hand, I believe could well and truly surpass Thompson - provided he can get his body right and stay injury free for a prolonged period of time.

Was Edwards that far behind Thompson? I don't think so.

Matt Crouch will be an absolute gun lol, you just need to watch how good he is in close amongst traffic, probably more noticeable when you're sitting on the wing and there's a stoppage near your area on level 1.
He's good, real good, ball magnet that averaged over 40 in the TAC. With a few pre seasons he will destroy it.

Tyson Edwards played 321 games for us, averaging over 20 disposals a game for his last 10 seasons. I'd be VERY happy with that sort of output from Matt Crouch
So would I. That's my point... I'm not saying he won't be a very good player. I just don't think that he will be elite.

Thommo could do some work on that as well. At least Crouch has time to work on it and improve that and his tank

Given that it took him 11 seasons to get there, you probably could/would have said the same thing about Thompson from 2005-2010.

Edwards was unlucky to be sitting in a team next to Goodwin, Roo and McLeod. Those 3 were the best combination Adelaide had. He would have more personal awards if he was playing in a different era.

That said, not many players can contribute like Crouch at the same age. Crouch will be a beast

Edwards was a really good player, but he was never in the running for the B&F, nor was he a Brownlow Medal contender (Thompson finished equal 4th in 2012), nor was he ever in contention for AA selection.
Exactly right... except that Edwards finished runner up in the club champion 3 times, and 5th in the 2005 Brownlow.
