Post Match Thoughts

Our 3rd quarter was awesome stuff, absolutely killed them out of the middle, they were shellshocked, then North got a freakin goal with 6 seconds left in the 3rd term to keep them hanging in. I still thought we were home well into the last quarter, silly me.

French had his best game for the year - Murph, Simpson, Fev were terrific. Some good signs, son of Wayne looks good.

Walker managed to slow down Grant who was killing Carrazzo (Pagan - he's NOT a back pocket!! See what happens when u play him up the ground!).

Teague and Mclaren were Kaiserslauten.

85% of last night was good stuff, such a shame we lost it at the end.

I think he was talking about opposition players who seem to pull something out of their arse when they play us. You're forgiven for thinking it was another opportunity to attack one of our guys though.

Exactly right with 10 mins to go the players who marked the ball were motioning to the other players to slow down.

When are sporting teams in general going to realise the best form of defence is attack. I saw it in the NBA finals Dallas had a big lead over Miami & **** themselves.

Blackwell & Russell continue to look good and disposal seems good.

Teague was a disgrace last night & should be banished forever.

With only 2 wins on the board so far this year, if we don't win another 7 games for the remainder of this year & next year combined we will qualify for a priority pick next year before the 1st round.

Although I'm sick of losing & telling my 6 yr old son the next morning we lost again.

im seriously thinking about boycotting anymore carlton games if this imposter continues to get a game.

my thoughts- don't want to sound too negative here, but just some small area's where IMO we can improve quickly

disappointed that when we have no obvious options inside 50, we don't go long to the top of the square to create a 50/50 contest. doesn't need to be our whole game plan but on ocassions its OK to go long, espacially when FEV is out marking all and deluca is hanging on to marks.

on a couple of ocassions bentick coached up the ball trying to thread the ball in traffic rather than going long- not the only 1 to do so.

disappointed to see our ruckmen not shepherd the ball through on the goal line rather than watch players get a hand on the ball as it is crossing the goal line (ie french in last 1/4)

disappointed to see our ruckmen not track back and pick up their men (ie french in 1st 1/4)

disappointed to see our players beat two players then stop dead in their tracks and handball to a stationary target 5 meters away, keep running and go long. (ie bannister in 2nd 1/4)

was good to see we can put on 8 goals quarters and we can play some excellent footy, just need to work on the consistency.

we desperatly need a CHF, we are too 1 dimensional. when deluca stood up it was great as we had multiple optioins,

there are lots of positives I can mention. murphy's overall play, deluca holding grabs, french winning some tap outs, thornton's change in attitude, betts' pressure, fevola's good form.

Oh, and Corey Jones ****es me off. I hate those flukey-like players who play only a few good games in a season.

He has had an excellent year. Not watching much footy these days?

Abd BTW, I sat there and watched the worst semi-regular footballer in the comp snag a lazy three (Deluca. Absolute rubbish) so don't give me this once a year stuff.

It wasn't a bad game, considering. Carlton moved the footy well enough. Fevola really is an outstanding footballer, Murphy was born to rack up posessions and Blackwell did some nice things. I still don't understand why you blokes still play Wiggins, Teague, McLaren etc.

I think this is what really hurt us in the last quarter. Many times we had the ball just outside fifty, and instead of kicking it long to Fev, who was constantly alone with his opponent inside fifty, the player with ball would wait until the forward line is full of players, than try to pin point a pass. Only time it worked in that quarter was when Stevens kicked it to Simpson who won the free.

I still don't understand why you blokes still play Wiggins, Teague, McLaren etc.

When you have injury to key players (Kouta, Waite, Fisher) and a lack of depth, than you have to play these guys. But to be fair to Wiggins, although he was quiet on Friday, he has been one of our best over the last month.
