Not just today's game, but in general.......Broomhead, Aish WHE, & Phillips hear steps and are ineffective tacklers
They all put their heads over the pill today. All showed enough to make the future look promising.

Great player. But I can't ever remember him winning us any of those close matches we've had in recent years, that's all the point I was trying to make.
It's just because he doesn't have that breakaway pace or strength that catches the eye at key moments. He is the guy that slices through traffic, threads the needle with a handball to open the game up and allows someone like Swan to kick the winner. He didn't do it today, but he has done it many times and will do it many more.

Folks, please keep it civil towards each other, thanks
Either you have deleted the offending posts or I am have missed them. Seems a tame thread to me given we lost to an ordinary team. Haven't seen the game cos I was teaching at a Cambodian school while the game was in progress. However the comments in this thread have dissuaded me from downloading the game. Looks like Bucks and others should still be moved on despite what has transpired in prior weeks.

Tends to be a bit timid in ground contested situations doesn't he.

Needs to add a good 10kgs of muscle.

He's an outside player so I don't think the more heavily contested stuff is his thing but that's not why he's in the team or where he'll bring value to the team. Hopefully he'll learn to do better in those contested situations but it's not a major issue for mine. We have more than enough grunt.

How can ppl be positive. We lost to a team missing their number 1 ruckman and full forward. We are just crap, face it!!
Sigh. I'll add Reid, Varcoe, Elliot , Wells and Goldy to our side and they can have Gawn and that overrated hack, Hogan playing.

Nearly 4 hours since the game has finished am I am still spewing about that biased shit they call umpiring

Yeh we made quite a few skills errors that cost us goals but that umpiring was near blatant cheating, usually i try not to let the umps piss me off because i think they are generally muppets most of the time and usually just roll my eyes at their ineptness but today was just onesided, players with no prior pinged all the time, we would tackle Melb guy's the same and it would be play on or some bullshit free against

a honourable mention at their ineptness was when they allowed that Melb guy to play on on the wing, the play had stopped, the guy got up and ran 5 meters to a dead ball, there was no adavantage, the ball should of been brought back behind the mark, just biased and inept crap

Spewing

Dont think i will sleep tonight

Really, do you think we should have given up a 4 goal lead as meekly as we did.....dont blame the umps. This is like Buckley deflecting losses due to injuries......get off it!!
Four goal leads are nothing in today's game. There are always momentum shifts. Have you been to many games of footy recently? It happens every week in numerous games.

I haven't read every post but has the fact JDG dropped a chest mark in the dying minute been mentioned?
I mentioned it, thought it was horrid.

Does good things, and some down-right awful things.

Overall his game today was better than previous weeks. Need him trending in an upwards direction.

ENOUGH.

Please enough is enough with the umpiring. I'm embarrassed at the umpiring bashing on here and radio. So maybe today it didn't roll our way. It happens.
IT DID NOT cost us the game.

The ease in which Melbourne cut through the middle and the openess of their forward line did.
Missed set shots like greenwoods did.
Moore's dropped sitter 40 out did.
Adams turnovers did.
Our high bombsinto the 50 during our great run in the second cost us a few more goals.

We led by 5 goals against a mid table side and lost. We have issues we should be discussing rather then the umpires.

Is it ok if I ask your thoughts on that player who's surname starts with S?

The way people act like our club has gone to crap because we lost a game by a goal. In our last premiership year we didn't even beat them on QB. Given our early games VS Calrton, Stkilda and the Bombers, I'd say our last 5 weeks have been pretty very promising. But hey, if winning 3/5 and losing 2 by less than a kick makes you want to throw away your membership, by all means, go ahead!

No - I am still Pissed Off by the Scumps

Ok well we are all pissed off tonight. But like I said .. today wasn't our day with the umps. We have had games this year where we had a good run.
Why not focus on our flaws by our team today. There were many

Had the umpiring been consistent today we would have won. That is not opinion, it is fact. In terms of today's game, to say the umpiring didn't make a difference today is moronic.

That said - it's swings and roundabouts, I don't think it was intentional on their behalf and we will get the good end of a similar stick every now and then.

Question marks on whether a few on that list make it long term e. g Smith and Crocker..... but the rest look like long term players IMO

And there is some potential debutant players still to come in at some stage this year like Daicos, Kirby... and of course inexperienced players like Cox and Ramsay still developing at VFL level

Smith had a dirty day but he's coming off 1 of his better games last week. Will likely alway be a fringe player (in that 16-25 group) but if he's not making the 22 because we've named someone better, then we've named a pretty good side. Think either Ramsay and/or Sinclair will eventually force him out.

I think Crocker improved this week relative to last. Still too early to know if he can cement a spot in the 22 with both Fas in there and Elliott (hopefully) due back. Personally I like the kid but would actually prefer Kirby at the moment as he's less of a lead-mark type.

Think Phillips is the other 1 in the same conversation.

It's a tough game and I'll put my hand up to say I can only imagine how good you need to be to get a game but under the circumstances every single player out there should be going for that mark like their life depended on it. It was a bloody chest mark.

Which decision exactly are you most upset by?
The free kick on qrt time siren was a free kick as was the Greenwood holding the ball at the end.
They seem to be the two that riled up the ponsford

No,have you?
i have, hitting my head against brick wall today.

As we all did.... We just wanted to win... we'd be no.6... but to no avail.

Typing whilst banging my head on table.

What concussion? I love carlton.... I must be concussed saying that

Ha ha! I thought he showed some glimpses of what others have seen -especially that mark from a kick in. But to be honest, Shaz had another underwhelming game. If Goldy and Varcoe are right I would drop Shaz and Langdon. He has a future but not an immediate one in our best 22 in my humble opinion.
