Melbourne get Mal, we get Frawley, perfect fit, we have space after rok, lrt, and goodes, and a great utility mentor for sam reid, win win in a way

I actually prefer the idea of us not getting Frawley and any extra cap space we have in 2015 we pay all of it to Buddy to try and lessen how much we will have to pay him in future years.

I'm hearing a lot since our loss on Saturday from the media ( yes the media I know ), What's your guys thoughts on our OUTSIDE RUN ?.
Do we have to many insiders or just a one paced midfield ?.
Do Jetta and Harry not take the game on enough and use there speed , same goes for say Lloyd ?
Can we fix it IF there is a problem with say a move for Rohan up to the wing or even a Towers ?
My thoughts is it is a minor issue atm but we did get hurt against Port/Hawks , I'm thinking give Towers ( height/speed and very good endurance ) ago of the wing and maybe Lloyd has a rest ( stiff ) or with Shaw back give Rohan ago of the wing but in saying that he seems to like the HBF and playing a more defensive game.
Hanners will also change this once he is back

Just my opinion

None of our pacy players are consistent ball winners

Jetta has started to get more possies, his best year yet but still we need it more in his hands and he is not always prepared to take it on as much as he seems able to

Agree with everything except the bolded.

Jetta is definitely better than his 2013 form, but would easily take 45 goals over an extra handful of possessions. His defensive work is better though.

Right now, both speedsters from the 2009 draft (Rohan and Jetta) have had leg injuries which has hampered their confidence/ability in taking off. I actually can't remember the last time Jetta ran half the ground like he used to do nearly every game in 2012.

Meant best year for possies per game sorry

I think Cunningham's head knock against the hawks hurt his game on the weekend. But we got the ball to pacey players often enough. It's more how they use it.

The story isn't our outside run. The story is who wins the battle for the corridor. And the main factor there is how the midfield is traveling.

We struggled in that dept. Even the slowest mid can look scary if he finds an inside option. Hawks were great in that area. But crawling around the boundary line ALWAYS looks slow. And that's where we spent a good deal of time.

Good teams deny you avenues, though. We've looked pretty quick against lesser sides for that exact reason. Just my two cents.

I think there is enough pace available to select its just trying to get the balance right. I actually thought towers looked better in his brief cameo still not sure if he is good enough though.

One thing im not sure of is whether we need grundy when playing hawthorn. Richards obviously gets roughie, but the second tall is only a resting ruckman who could potentially be picked up by Reid. It would allow us to play an extra smaller defender like Jones to pick up the multiple small hawks forwards. Just a thought anyway.

One thing that has gone unnoticed is the fabulous job Rampe has done on Gunston round 8 kept him scoreless and on the weekend conceded one goal.

Thought he deserves more accolades going his way.

According to the Swans site, Jetta is 2nd in the league for inside 50s. Good on him, though I have to say I'm surprised. Clearly the coaches seem to be pretty happy with him, though I wouldn't mind him banging home about 30 more goals a year.

I think that's just an area we have lacked this year. Midfeild goals. None of our mids have kicked more than 18 goals for the year. We need 1-2 goals from each of Parker, Jack, Kennedy, Jetta, Hanners (I know has missed some time) and McVeigh. Plus 2 or more from Tippett, Goodes and Franklin each. That's how we will wing flags. Only Parker and mcGlynn average a goal or more per game for our mids.

It's a good stat. But it also tells us he's kicking long rather than running those extra 15m that might lead to a score. But he has such a beautiful long kick, definitely a great asset to have.

I know why we don't (TV ratings / $$$), but I wish we had more home games in the afternoon

Not sure exactly where to put this thought, but to state it as an opinion for this thread, I reckon it would be fracking sick, that on the proviso Adam Goodes plays in '15, he could kick more goals than both BBB Hall and Plugger Lockett (for the Swans anyway), he's only about 30 goals behind them at the moment. It would also make him 3rd on Souths/Sydneys goal kicking of all time (Pratt 1, O'Loughlin 2)

If buddy plays out his contract he could pass everyone on the goals list
