If we win tomorrow we would play the Prelim on the Friday night yes?

Hoping the top 4 remains the same for the NRL heading into the finals and then we'll most likely play at the SCG.
Assuming there is no scheduling crap, then yes. If ANZ is booked Friday but not Saturday, we will play Saturday and visa versa. If it is booked both days we will have SCG on Friday. Happened in 2012. ANZ booked for Saturday so we got moved to Friday

See I find that stupid. We finished on top so we should get the longer break heading into the Grand Final if we were to win tomorrow and win the Prelim. Not only that but if results go the way people expect them to go then Geelong Vs Kangas/Bombers would be next Friday night and Freo Vs Port would be next Saturday night.

Now if the favourites out of the semi-finals win then I think it would be stupid to have Freo only getting a six day break to play the Hawks on the Friday night and for Geelong to have an eight day break to play us on the Saturday night.

I don't think stadiums should get priority over finals matches but what benefits teams more. It's not that hard AFL!

Exactly what Hawks fans said 2 years ago.

That's just what happens. 2012 (again) Hawks/Pies Friday. Swans/Crows Saturday. Next week Pies played Saturday (8 days), Crows Friday (6 days). Week 3 Swans Friday (13) Pies (6), Hawks (15) Crows (8). It's just the way it works. Crows (2nd H/A) finished higher than Pies (4th H/A) but still had a 6 day break into Week 2

All be easier if we had the SCG which (if the AFL get what they want) won't be played on during September.

Dan hannebery thanks champ for winning me afl fantacy. I brought you in thinking you'd try your guts out against Richmond for match fitness and you didn't let me down and that got me the win. I guess this makes me the happiest west coast supporter with Sydney ATM. But I don't blame sydney I blame the entire state of Victoria! Carn swans or port

If North wins against Geelong can we just lock the prelim final thead and start discussing the Grand Final?

1. We'd win by 200 points.
2. It would rustle all of the jimmies of the North board and thus would be hilarious.

Round 4...

Bud being the massive confidence player he is -- what affect would a Brownlow medal have around his neck when he turns up to a Grand Final against Hawthorn?

With the brownlow, the coleman and the other 2 he'll have after the game I imagine he'd be little concerned about injuring his neck.

the leigh matthews trophy he has to carry round will be a burden too

Right. But my point is, I don't think kicking 2.7 again would be on the radar with Chas around his neck.
You'd hope not. I do think his kicking has improved a little this year too. He still misses his share, as you would when you're consistently taking shots from 50+ but he doesn't seem to be spraying as many OOF or wasting as many gettable chances.

Consider this.

Only four time this year has he kicked more behinds than goals in a game.
Rd. 4 v. North -- 0.1
Rd. 8 v. Hawks -- 2.7
Rd. 16 v. WCE -- 1.2
Rd. 18 v. Hawks -- 3.5

(Total v. Hawthorn 5.12)

Remove the Hawks games and his return this year is 65.35. Which is fantastic.

There's clearly pressure/confidence baggage vs Hawthorn. Which I'd be very interested to see the effects of a brownlow award on 6 days before the GF.

Just saw highlights of Sydney Vs Geelong back in 05 in the semi-final.

Still get chills.

Yeah I watched that last year too and got goosebumps. Think it was Goodes on Open Mike who said that that game was the most memorable game of his career and I can see why. It's always incredible to witness one person carry a whole team for any sport, like Warne in the 05 Ashes series. A lot of people herald the Leo Barry mark ahead of Nick Davis' 4 goals but I honestly think that that game was the most incredible Swans moment I've witnessed in my 11 years watching the sport. It should also be noted that they were 4 exceptional goals.

For the theme of the thread, my random Swans opinion is that if the Swans were chosen by the AFL to play against Aliens to save the world - that Horse would not choose Reid to play in that match lol. I love Reid and am still really confident that he will one day be a fantastic player, but god I would prefer Mitchell or Biggs in the team at the moment. Unfortunately Reid will only get better by playing, so we'll have to carry him for now. He was actually decent towards the start of the year where he was playing a bit like a poor man's Westhoff, taking heaps of marks and chipping in with goals. He's been reallllyyyy quiet for the last 4 weeks though.

Don't you hate it when we need to field a team to play aliens to save the world? Just happens so damn much. Interfering with our preseason IMO.

Random question but doesn't Tom Mitchell have a younger brother? If so is he any good?
Yes and not good enough to be drafted are the respective answers
