Does anyone remember the Peanuts Guy?

In the 70's and early 80's he used to walk around the boundary line selling peanuts in a paper bag.

He would walk around yelling "Peanuts..., Peanuts..."

Folklore has it he simultaneously sold Peanuts at all 6 matches on Saturday afternoons.

Very industrious blokes they were. In one day he sold peanuts, it started raining and he sold umbrellas, then it got sunny and he’s walk around saying ‘get you sun visors’, made me laugh.

Remember him well. 'Peanuts, a shilling a bag!' I started going to Lake Oval in the early 60s.

Think it comes down to Lions v Hawks although last round always throws upsets.

I was just reflecting: our ongoing recruiting from WA is reminiscent of the Foreign Legion and how we came to be called the Swans. I kind of prefer Bloods (a) because it sounds cooler; and (b) because the Swans monicker specifically references our links to WA. I want to think that referencing WA is no longer fitting, but maybe it is?

I see your point but I kinda like to respect tradition.

Also, I totally respect the sWAns contingent in WA, they are most righteous and cool.

For me, The Bloods is a mindset, one borne of (again) tradition. Kinda like the Shinboner Spirit.

Now sometimes I think our team follows the Bloods mindset, sometimes they don't.

Personally, I don't think we have earned The Bloods moniker for years.

If they live the spirit, yeah call them The Bloods, otherwise, keep those medals in a drawer until they are earned.

Yesterday I received a notification from my Photo Gallery app for a "Captured Moment" montage from 24 September 2022. It was from my seat at the Grand Final .

Thanks for the reminder...I really needed it. I'll probably receive something about the 2024 grand final next .

Well guess what happened today? As suspected, I received a notification with a photo montage from the 2024 Grand Final .

At least it's run out of Grand finals. Unless it goes back to 2016 .

In the Lion's match there was a free against Buller, who controlled the ball, on the wing. I have looked at this several times and still can't figure out what he did wrong. It was adjudicated 'In The Back' but Buller uses only his body to body Andrews out. That is not a free. It is okay on or a mark if taken.
