Despite the well-reasoned and fair decision by the AFL on the AFC penalty, it was too soon for me to give bouquets, rather than brickbats to them!
On reading their statement, the bloody lawyer goes on and on about "protecting the community", with not a mention at all about the AFL training "fairness" doctrine, which now seems to have disappeared. What the hell has any of this had to do with protecting the community?

I deliberately avoided reading the AFL statement, was always going to be full of shit to make them look like the community leader in fighting the virus, when over the weekend according to the media it was about competitive advantage

What i want to know is why was west coast cleared of contravening the rules of training in groups of 10? The Afl brings in a rule 2 days later due to Vic clubs whingeing but wasn't the rule there from the beginning of the comp being shut down? If it was we have just been shafted and we should have the same penalty as wce which is none. Was this brought up by us with impending legal action after the Afl tried to rort us? The afl then saves face with Hart out for 6. Still feel it should have been no penalty at all.

Exactly what Nicks said in his interview with David King and Dermie on their show . What’s the go with that , was our coach lying because watching that interview and not being a body language expert I could tell Nicksy was talking crap. Now all of a sudden Ben Hart ran the session. Anyone called Nicksy out on this yet . Aside from that think it’s a blow up , bloody more chance to catch Covid at Ikea for the last two months .

Fages explicitly says a coach was involved and they are investigating.

But Kelly doesn't think so

All I’ve seen is Nicksy giving Hart a pass and then basically putting it on the players but hoping they don’t get smashed. I guess the facts that the AFL got were a different to what Nicksy was told. But we do know that players are expendable at our club while staff are untouchable.

If we had copped draft picks and/or a 100k fine, I would have torn up my membership and quit AFL for good. It is time the idiots that run this club understand that saying you will cop a penalty whatever it happens to be, or offering a self-imposed penalty as we did with the Tippet thing is utter bullshit. We need a CEO, Chairman, Coach, etc that are willing to fight like f*** for this club.
I think the penalty that has been imposed is over the top for the minor infraction that occurred. There is no way our 16 players should have received any penalty at all.
