5. Maric - Absolutely outstanding out there today. 24 H/O, 18 disposals and his chasing, body work and decision making was superb. Starting to improve in the marking contests around the ground. Great stuff
4. VB - Vince, I mean Mackay, oh wait Nathan van Berlo was terrific today (stupid commentators can't tell them apart). He looked Nathan-Buckley-esque at times with the hard running and long kicking.
3. Massie - Shut down a quality player in Johnson today. Will most likely be playing on another Johnson next week!
2. Edwards - Cool and calm in a crisis. 3 goals in a low scoring game is a good effort.
1. Bassett - Another good game in conditions which suited him. Will he play for Norwood next year?

5. van Berlo - heart and soul of the mid-field. The captain in waiting showed the way, particularly when we were struggling in the first half. Has become a first tier player this year.

4. Maric - easily the big fella's best game for the club, and another who has grown in stature as the season has progressed. His last quarter was outstanding and was a huge factor in our win.

3. Edwards - gotta hand it to the veteran. 3 goals 2 points as a small forward was very very handy in a low scoring game. Surely he'll go around again next year.

2. Symes - courage personified both in defence and on ball/wing. Given the lack of hardness in the Port side, it's hard to believe that Choco wouldn't play this lad. A great get for our club.

1. Massie - reduced a star in Johnson to a miserable game with only 10 touches and scoring 1 point. Mass obviously loves the wet, playing his best games in it - was he born with flippers??

1. Bassett - plenty of contenders for this spot, but I'll give it to Bass for a pretty handy game played with plenty of courage.

1. Mackay - what a classy player this lad is. He's had an outstanding year for a first year player and will develop into a first tier player in time.

5 - Van Berlo: this lad is going to be better player than i thought he would be - and a future leader no doubt
4 - Maric; As Bert said - "I love the boy" - and as mentioned earlier in another thread -leadership material too
3 - Massie - I forgot Johnson was playing - that's enough for me!
2 - Edwards - gets a tick from to go around next year - really been trying hard in recent weeks
1 - Symes - very happy with his solid game.

Agree with the above, however goodwin gets best team man for me the way he threw himself at the contest was inspirational and was a great captains game haven't seen stats but i don't think most of the good things he did would be reflected on there.

Agree with the above, however goodwin gets best team man for me the way he threw himself at the contest was inspirational and was a great captains game haven't seen stats but i don't think most of the good things he did would be reflected on there.

I was gonna tip Goodwin.
His leadership showed when the game was in the balance.
Edwards McLeod and Goodwin will be great depth with the finals here agin. You could smell the hunger from these three.

Will Macca shave his head this week.
