Thanks Vital for the pics....gee Campbell looks like Tom Hill. Redpath is a big unit.

I hope to get to training tomorrow to see the new guys first hand.

If Campbell is his listed 201cm, hes aint exactly a stick insect either.

We may have lost huddo and hall, but campbell and redpath look like they will make up for the lost kilos, if not the ability.

Hudson and Hall were nearing the end but looking to the future these kids Campbell and Redpath might be what we need.

Im a bit of an optimist and would like them to do well. Realistically we don't know how they'll go. 100action is right we are just pinning our hopes on 6 rookies to fill those spots and think everything will be good.

Bloody hell at posters hinging our present and future KP stocks on 6 rookies we drafted this year. I will be delighted if even one of these rookies is able to break 50 games.

Relax mate, I think we're all cynical enough - irrespective of what we post from time to time - to realise these kids aren't all going to be the next big thing!

Campbell is a unit though. It's good to see Roughead and Cordy will have some serious younger muscle with which to contend over the pre-season. If nothing else, he'll keep these guys honest. There's no point in your younger ruckman competing and learning with the oder more mature ruckman for the whole pre-season, as they're not likely to have many wins. You need them getting a good dose of positive competition and reality in equal measures.

Went to training yesterday in the hope that I could see some of the new guys for the first time. But none of them trained at all. It seems that the 1st year guy had the day off or were doing other things in doors perhaps?

Someone commented earlier that posters were pinning our hopes for next year on this years rookies. But I don't read that into the posts. I just see the usual excitement you get from a new batch of players.

Almost every year 1 or 2 rookies or 1st year players stand up. Last year for us it was Dahlhaus. Looking yesterday I was impressed with how Jones was moving and just how smart Panos is as a footballer. Those guys along with Grant are more realistically where our forward line improvement will come from. But let's be excited by Roberts, Redpath and co also.

I think be excited that for the first time since Granty, we have the makings of a formidable forwardline.
I think the policy of recruiting a number of full forwards is a smart one, as full forward's in the mould of Jonathan Brown, Franklin, Roughead et al, are as rare as hen's teeth.
We have to recruit those with potential and see how they go, hopefully a couple will develop and hold our forwardline for the next 10 years, and we won't have to sacrifice a gun midfielder like Johno to fill in the holes in our forwardine again.

I can see Fletcher Roberts playing down back, Redpath just seems to be a natural forward and if his kicking is that good it would be a bit of a waste to take him out of goals, but I dont know Roberts just seems like a KB to me!

Roberts is a key forward, he can take contested marks, great one-one and kicks like bazza hall but higher and a bit more power.
