Predict what the 2019 AFL Round 1 fixture would look like

Crows/Hawks should have been Saturday night, swapped with the dogs/swans.

Happy with the match up. Promises to be a good game. Just not jumping through hoops at the thought of walking through temporary fencing as the precinct the under construction for the Easter Show. It's a 10 minute bus ride and not a 4 1/2 hour train trip though.

This closest to the pin, I think. Good one.

The GF replay is a much more anticipated contest that is due to be exciting every year. Theres something nice about starting off and kicking off the season where we left off.

I'm all in the GF replay camp to kick off the season each year. Premiers host at their home ground and unfurl the flag against the opponent they beat. Everything about it just works.
Hey at no stage am I arguing for Carlton v Richmond to open the season but the AFL knows it draws big crowds, bigger than many crowds the grand finalist might draw, at any rate they can schedule that for the Friday or the following week, it's all about the money.

My favourite AFL draw would be drawn from a barrell and you get what you get randomly, blockbusters would be a natural occurence still but who knows what days they might occur on it's the fair and right way to do a draw but the TV stations/AFL might not agree.

Hmm... Surprised WCE didn't get a home game first up.

I think it should be a fixture tradition going forward that the reigning premier gets a home game first for the unveiling of the flag.

Is it too hard to ask for Prelim final rematches for opening of R1?
Is someone able to enlighten me as to where the Carl v Rich R1 opening match tradition began and why?
Just leave it at Rich v Carlton. Works well every year so no need to start changing just for the sake of it.
