I'm a Freo member and have two memberships, but I'm trying to get four tickets to the prelim. I'd be happy to go public, but no chance of getting four seats next to each other.

I've got no chance of getting to the GF, so I'm happy to trade my barcodes (only for ballot, no GF upgrades on them) for the GF ballot, in return for being able to use your barcodes to book tickets for the prelim.

Hoping some eastern states members can help out? Willing to chuck in a Coles gift card or something else negotiable.

G'day. Might be able to help someone out.

My AFL Members pamphlet says this about prelims:

AFL Silver Members with a Club Support package for one of the competing teams have two options to access preliminary finals tickets:
They may access tickets through their club's allocation in the public section of the ground, on sale from 9am EST on Monday, September 16.

So is this relevant or no better than the public on-sale date? I'm also going to give AFL Membership a ring to see if it's transferrable. Worth also seeing if this is relevant to Subiaco Oval, but the wording seems to imply it is. I'll keep whoever posted.

Will be interested in three, two, or one GF barcodes as well if anyone's keen.

I can help you out with the AFL member query.
If you are an AFL Silver member with Freo club of support then you are also automatically a Freo member and you get the same benefits as other standard Freo members. That means you can buy a prelim ticket at 9am Monday as a Freo member and it means you can go in the Freo GF ballot.
AFL member tickets are strictly non transferrable, however if you buy during the Freo member period then you are using your Freo membership, not your AFL membership, so whatever rules apply to Freo members are the ones you need to worry about.

What about FULL AFL MEMBERS that do not have Fremantle as selected as club of support ?

For the prelim? I'm reading the booklet now and it doesn't seem like there's anything in there. As it's at Subi, I don't think there's a designation unless you have Fremantle or Swans/Carlton as your designated side.

As for the GF, you're already in line ahead of me.

Ah thank you. Very helpful mate. Though I'm wondering why I couldn't buy a GF upgrade and was told I'm not a Freo member, which is pretty weird... whatever.

So to Freo members, have you ever transferred tickets to someone else? Ever been an issue? Surely not because I remember having two memberships last year. Different mates would use the second one and we were never stung or anything.

Looks like you can also get a seat at the Subiaco prelim, not sure how many would be set aside though, get in early.

Thanks for the link. That info isn't that clear in that it briefly mentions full members. However, from the below statement would you assume that tickets to Full members would go onsale at 9AM or 1PM WST next week?

All AFL Full Members (excluding Absentee Members) have access* to the two preliminary finals, irrespective of venue, during the 2013 Toyota AFL Finals Series. **

Yeah seems a bit weird they said that, you are definitely a Freo member, but maybe they limit the GF upgrade to people who are direct members only? If so then this is a bit unfair, as the AFL point out that you are also a member of your club with entry entitlements to home games. If you hassle the AFL/club about it you may get the option next year. I'm an AFL Silver member with Hawks club of support and the Hawks allow me to pay for an upgrade which gives me a reserved seat at home games and guaranteed GF ticket if they make it.

The AFL member tickets normally go on sale on the Tuesday morning. They will have some sort of update on the website on Sunday once all the matches are finalised.

I'm also after a couple of barcodes. I work with a young bloke with cerebral palsy who is dead keen to go. I've been told I can use the codes to get a wheelchair bay. Happy to pm you my work phone number/ details so you can check that I am legit.

thanks for being a great help!

I think you would have to be dead or in another country to be a member and not to go to this one :)

I agree, I'm just hoping there are some interstate members that aren't flying over that can assist.

Worse comes to worse, I buy two tickets with my membership and then try and buy 4 tickets in the public sale, then sell the two membership tickets.

Quick question are interstate member holders entitled to preliminary members tickets once they go on sale?

I was happy to give up my bar code for the Geelong game but absolutely not for the prelim, I can't wait :)
