Yeah definetly . Just putting it out there .
Was at Pinks res on Sunday for nth v boronia . Not a fan . Not much atmosphere .
Dont mind east Ringwood for atmosphere. Knock down the disused social club and put up terracing with undercover then would be ideal
What is more important, atmosphere or a bigger ground which it seems the EFNL wanted for the higher divisions.

If the efnl wanted a big deck for finals they should’ve gone to box hill - given all the hawthorn stuff being pushed through the league now (even the rep colours have changed to brown and gold) then it makes sense to have the showpiece games at the premier ground in the region (sorry GMac)

I believe Box Hill is planned for 2026 prem GF. Will be an awesome venue to have the GF.

to be fair north Ringwood womens and vets did win the grand final on the Saturday and the celebrations were long into the Sunday morning so I wouldn’t be to hard on the atmosphere would of been sore heads hoping for a quiet crowd haha!’ And a 70 point drumming no much to get wild about

It probably would have the same cricket problem as faced by Ringwood and Bayswater. They wouldn't let EB use it on a single Saturday, citing possible ground damage, even though the ground wouldn't have been used for the following 4 weeks.

Perfect venue, looking forward to this happening.
Old VFA/VFL grounds Moorabbin Yarraville Preston Frankston are used for local grand finals so why not Box Hill when their facilities are ready.
A bit further away for some but far better facilities than Bayswater

Mordialloc and Springvale also used for the Southern League

You really need a council and tenant club that wants to play ball with that and my guess would be that any or all of Box Hill (Hawthorn), Box Hill CC or Whitehorse Council aren't really on board with it. I think it is also a standby venue for VFL finals, which might complicate things - at least it used to be.

The EFNL did make an attempt fairly recently (after Glen Waverley folded) to move into Central Reserve. It would have involved a long-term lease of the venue during the winter months, the league spending some money on a few upgrades, moving the league offices there, hosting all Premier Division finals and being a standby ground throughout the season should any clubs require it.

Monash Council knocked back the proposal. Probably because one of the councillors (McCluskey) is involved at Mazenod FC and they want the ground for themselves. No interest like self interest.

Do Mazenod use the old Waverley vfa oval or the one next to it?

Yeah as Hansie said - they are based on the North Oval but would like both because of how many teams they have.

Funny Richmond CC moved in with Council agreeing to upgrade the whole facility, and became Monash Tigers. A few years later they’re back to being called Richmond CC.

Rowville v Sth Croydon should be a cracker game. BA has got the dogs firing but will the big ground be their achilles heal. Rowville have got their big guns back. But are they fit enough to play the big ground. My tip is the Dogs.

On the train line so could be convenient for many getting off/on at Laburnum

Yes General, the Rowville old chums were fit enough. it was one of the games oof the year. Rowville coming from behind just like their reserves did to beat South Croydon. The last quarter was cut and thrust and parry with Rowville able to run a panza movement and roll over the top of South Croydon to kick the only two goals of the last quarter to win by 7 points. It was dodger that Rodger as Rowville just did enough. Credit to Oscar Van Dam who was awesome back from North VFL. Thomas Sheridan and Brayen Kilpatrick the difference makers up forward. Will be interesting this week.

Starkweather Homicide
Children of Thalidomide
Buddy Holly, Ben-Hur
Space Monkey, Mafia
Hula Hoops, Castro
Edsel is a no-go
U-2, Syngman Rhee
Payola and Kennedy
Chubby Checker, Psycho
Belgians in the Congo

Yup must have been a cracker game.
Blackburn is obviously the hunted but any of the teams remaining, on their day could win it.

Anyone know if Lachlan Wynd played in the 2's in Round 18 or was he named because Rowville need him to have registered for 3 games, just in case he is right to play in the finals at some stage?

In the 2,s he only has to be on the ground for 5 minutes which counts for 1 game plus the 2 senior games he has played so qualifies to play senior finals. Not sure I like that rule but understand where you are coming from.

Wasn’t named by the club on their social media and didn’t kick a goal (at Reserves level) when he’d be capable of kicking 15…

Fair chance you’ve caught Rowville out here I reckon…
