What will the four look like ?
Difficult to say without knowing the relevant player movements and we are a long, long way out but for mine this is the top four:

Collegians
Criminally unlucky to be relegated. Keep the majority of this years list and they will take the P155.

Old Ivanhoe
In a strong field they were the best team in B grade for most of the season. Will only get better.

Old Carey
Top end is very good and look ready to push for another crack at A grade.

Beaumaris
This might surprise some but junior affiliate is an absolute football factory and if they can stem the numbers who move to their school based clubs they could be anything.

Willy CYMS and Old Camberwell to keep them honest but just miss out.

The problem for Beauy, St Bedes & Parkdale is the $$$ in the MPFNL and SFNL. Big dollars and often easier football to play.

Can't find a place for your mob Jimmy? Surely things aren't that grim?

Certainly not based on 2025 results. 0 wins and a % of 40 so yes things are pretty grim right now. Obviously a big difference in class between A and B but would need to add some talent to challenge the top teams.

How many will you lose Jimmy?
A bit early to tell Mr P. A few of the stalwarts hung in for another year knowing it was going to be a tough season so at this stage I expect a few retirements. Have not heard of any departures but still early days. Will need to recruit and retain if we want to be competitive.

Will be interesting to see how De La Salle go next year. Lots of young players. Tail between their legs after not winning a game in Prem A. Will they just be happy to win a few games or will they rise again like the fiery phoenix?

Hoes enact a youth policy for 2026.

Old Ivanhoe are announcing that Xavier Naish will be its senior coach. Xavier will possibly be the youngest senior coach (24) in any competition in 2026. Whilst young is age and experience, his football brain, is light years ahead any “kid” I’ve seen in the past. Unfortunately, this may not be a long term solution as I believe a AFL club will snap him up within 3-4 years.👎👎

He will be ably supported by his father, Chris.

BRING ON 2026.

Big loss for Old Camb with Harry L going to the EDFL.

Also Conway from CYMS also leaving for EDFL.

The poaching is well and truely on.
Max, the poaching has been going for a couple years now.
1 to Werribee Districts 2023
Noonan, Ebinger Deer Park 2024/5
Conway Doutta 2026
2 went to West Footscray 2025
1 to Altona 2024
1 to Werribee Centrals 2024

This does count the U19s that we loose along the way

CYs like all amo clubs are ripe for the picking when suits clubs throw cash incentives like they all do these days.

I feel your pain. NFNL have been at us for years. When we fight back, some get testy. (Not our neighbours though)

Zak Provest will be the biggest target imo.

Even a club like Collegians, we have had plenty of our senior lads who were called up by clubs from all parts of the state when we got relegated promising them the world and plenty of Arthur Ashe as well.

It is a cycle and I know with things not being terrific economically, it is a very big lure for many blokes, I don't begrudge them at all.

The lions will be strong in 2026, I have no doubt about that.
