Note to The Black Bear, take a chill pill, we are all allowed to express our opinions in this forum, Scribe is a long time BF legend and did not deserve your vitriol.

Don't bother Brian, I saw it coming a mile away when BB joined last week as a far too obvious Blacks supporter.

Bait not taken.

You're hard on my boys Mick! Monash have just fallen short against OC after looking winners at stages and yesterday would have beat rupo at the duck pond but for the steadiness of Leigh Brennan. Not far off the pace and will get better.

Entertaining game at the Shark Tank on Saturday Les. Both sides have some extremely good young talent going around.

Yes agree Lemmsy. Some very positive signs for both clubs.
Thanks for having us. Only issue for the day was the umpiring in the twos. What was that all about?

Look forward to the rematch at the Frearson (and us getting the points).

Unfortunately we have had that chap a cpl of times this year, seems to have little idea which frustrates all and sundry. Return match will be a beauty !

Saw what coming a mile away mate? Please enlighten me and anyone else who is reading this forum.

I have just read your history, for a reserves coach you have a lot to say.

Not interested in discussing an umpire who is a sex offender?
Most of the teams in this competition have had him.
We have to obtain a Working With Children Check if we are in any way involved with U18 footballers and umpires don't?
Sounds like this is a bomb about to explode.

Being both the father of a teenaged girl and an umpire who has run with the man in question I have firm views on both the subject and individual involved but feel it is not my place to discuss them.

Provided posts are non-inflammatory and stick to the facts disclosed in that individual's past, or discuss the issues raised by our esteemed Mr Hinch, I am comfortable for such discussion to proceed but be prepared for stuff to get deleted at short notice if required by BigFooty.

Scribe's a bit of a legend around these here parts, pardner. You ain't. Tread careful.

OTP, we await the VAFA's report on the outcome of their review in relation to this umpire. The fact of the matter remains is how an umpire with convicted sexual charges was allowed to be involved in VAFA games when a Working With Children Chack is mandatory in relation to U18 players.
The recent reports to the inadequacies of the Working With Children Check reported in Tha Age on 14/5/12 raises all sorts of problems with this law.

The person under scrutiny also umpires other sports so I trust the media won't just zero in on the VAFA.

Must say I'm not a fan of this type of journalism. I'd much prefer the allegations to have been drawn to the attention of the law.

How could you read my posting history without visiting my profile page and following the link to previous posts? Not possible in BF land as far as I'm aware.

Checking my profile will show the last 10 posters to visit, and there's no Black Bear on there unfortunately (for you). So this is yet another far too obvious alias. Frankly, I'd have thought you wait a few weeks before unleashing another troll.

Guess you must be really bored.
Well I certainly am.

Sorry, again I don't know what you mean, do you have it in for me? All I simply did was click on your name next to your post and it brought up 'see previous posts' and thats what I did.
Please try it on mine if you like. Why is it you think I am someone else? As far as I am aware there are thousands of big footy people, maybe 100's of 1000's, I am happily a new one who has NEVER posted on here before, and no, Im not a troll either.

Unfortunately they have zeroed in on the VAFA already. The VAFA have copped a fair wack and while I don’t know all the facts perhaps that criticism was warranted. Not sure that he is in fact actively umpiring other sports at the moment but won’t dispute what you say and if so they are equally culpable.

The allegations have in fact been dealt with by the law - that’s why he is (or should be) prohibited from umpiring. The question is why the VAFA (and other bodies as you suggest) allowed this to occur if they knew of his prior convictions.

Hi Everyone,

I just want to clarify that the person posting on here as Black Bear is not the same Black Bear that wrote the match reports on the Uni Blacks website for the last few years. I know that because that man was me. I also know that because whoever this is, he is not as funny as me.

So apologies for any vitriol that has been flying around from this person, I would just like to distance myself and the Uni Blacks from it. Unfortunately I can't stop him from using my old monicker, but I'm sure anyone who knows me would confirm that I certainly wouldn't be posting anything with such questionable manners or grammar.

I hope this clears this up, and will mean I stop getting text messages asking me why I keep writing on Big Footy.

Cheers,
Evo

There is an Act in place that covers what constitutes a breach and who is entitled to know what. Hinch could have taken the time to grasp those matters then pursue it through legal channels if there was legitimate reason to do so and report on that. But in true Hinch style he goes for sensationalism.

No more from me on this matter.

btw. There’s no need to shout. We can all read normal size font.
