At least that's an excuse.

I've seen a fair few grounds from D3 to Premier C and I can safely say our away rooms are more than adequate. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.

Lucky we didn't have to play you blokes during the social room redevelopment. The away teams got the shipping containers ;)
So how come when our Clubbies play there they use the new rooms

The one game last year? Was a stand alone game with the 1's and 2's playing away, plus I believe our Women's team were using the top oval.

Anyway, some big games this week. Penninsula vs Mazenod shaping as a big one.

As well as the Nodders are going, I've learned my lesson when it comes to picking against the Pirates.

Mazenod probably the strongest of the 3 top sides we've seen so far. Structure up very well and are very even across the board.

Credit to Penninsula who had a lot of supporters travel to the game and plenty of them + players and coaches in the rooms after the game. Was another disappointing close loss but, like the Ivanhoe game, showed that we are more than capable of challenging (and hopefully eventually beating) the top teams.

Massive gripe with the VAFA as well as on Saturday we played the first of 7 straight home games, before having 2 away, another home, and then 5 straight away games to finish the season. We often get front-loaded with home games, presumably to ease the load on Vic Park in the second half of the year as the cricket square can get horrible after a bit of rain, but to have 8 home games in 11 weeks and finish with 5 away.....

Don't think the VAFA deserve the gripe. No way known they would make such a fixture for a C Section team without the Club's knowledge and/or some involvement from your Council.

It's a joke that a council can build a new facility and an away team can't use it.

Just for the record (and before you contemplate your tips this week), the Pirates win against Kew last Saturday was full of merit and character.
None of the Peninsula players and coaching staff had ever played at Victoria Park before.
Having coached junior football there for five years, I know how tricky that ground can be to play, especially when it's windy.
The Pirates were 20 points down at half time and within 5 minutes of the third quarter had no players left on the bench.
Make no mistake, Kew are formidable on their home ground and are capable of making the finals.
That win will certainly have strengthened the belief of the Pirates.

Any side with Maibaum and Brazzale running around in the forward half will be hard to contend with.

Does the new colour scheme appeal, Riss:grinning:?

Individualism will always emphasise the moral worth of a person, AM :bowing:
Never really thought of it having any relationship to morality whatsoever.

Anyway, a win against Kew on their home ground and with their raucous (bedford would have another word for 'em) supporters behind them has me convinced the Pirates a Prem'B' bound.

Riss,

To be honest, only Ormond players would have played at Victoria Park, so any who beats Kew, will be in the same position.

Is it fair to say, even on a small sample of 4 rounds, that Prem C will be a pretty even comp this year?
Apart from Pirates and Nodders who are clearly stand outs, it seems like there are no 'pencil it in as a win' games this year. Even the 2 win-less teams have been leading either at 1/2 time or late into the last.

AM - What makes "Maibaum and Brazzale" so good? Speed? Mobility? Simply good players?
Max - You played in 84? Wow. How many games did you notch up?

It took 20 seasons to rake up 100 games, due to injury and having a playing weight of 65 kg's.

Umpired close to 300 games. Still trying to get that right.

Both are quite mobile lead-up forwards with Brazzale being a better contested mark and more accurate kick. He's a Prem 'A' player playing in a lower grade. Either has the capability to turn a game on their day.

That's briefly how I see them. Others here would have seen them more than me and might care to comment.

Always good to see a relative newbie posting here.:thumbsu:

The only game the club had involvement in is this week as we were asked close to the start of the season about changing because of the Ormond train works, so 6 straight were originally fixtured without consulting the club. My point still stands. It's a positive no doubt to some degree, but it's a tough ask for a team to finish with so many away games. Anyway it's neither here nor there, you have to win them everywhere to make it.

Looking forward to continuing our 2015 rivalry with the Monders. Note for the Ormond blokes that we have 4 games + luncheon on Saturday
and there's some car parking lost due to council works so allow plenty of time to park! Sorry bedders

I also agree with your thioughts RE penninsula Rissoles, but just on what I've seen, I'd have the Nodders just ahead of them. However at home this week may change that.

I saw...but to be clear it was just not a good look....there was nothing that warranted any action or anything ...maybe just a quiet word from someone at the club.

FWIW got to feel for the Marcellin crew at the moment, every one has injuries but these guys have got it royally. Hopefully they can hang in there.
