Not many if any, won an A Grade flag with all Skevs kids in ‘22.

Tend to agree. Marto is highly respected in local football and cricket circles. Players wanting to test themselves at a higher level has been happening forever so doubt his reputation would be tarnished much by this. It’s not as if they are following the coach to play in the same grade against their old mob.

It’s not so long ago that people from SKOB and Uni Blues were singing Marto’s praises. The tack togethers too. I don’t know him well, but those who did know him at Rovers say the accusation is out of character. At the moment, it’s hearsay mudslinging. Perhaps someone would care to give us some first-hand information. Say from the players concerned or Marto.

If the players initiated the request because they wanted to play at a higher level, that changes things markedly. Any coach saying no to good players wanting to test themselves at a higher level would have rocks in his head. Whether he coached them before or not.

My mail is the 2 players going to OH love Gryphs but want to test themselves in higher Grade, similar to Will Green did going to Old Carey.

Think there is a bit more going on in house with the departures. So many top players leaving will have the others questioning themselves

Feel as if lots of these recent posts on here have been quite unnecessary and over the top, as at the end of the day it is just an amateur competition and people no matter the sport or industry want to better themselves hence why there is players coaches etc who leave each season to seek new opportunities. Feel as if no movement in this division has been on bad terms and most of the time never is. Just my 2c worth…

l don't think there will be market revisions until this years form is exposed, maybe R4 or R5. Best of luck to the Nodders, but my mail is that they and Marcellin are not travelling terribly well.

Nodders will be fitter but less talented than last year.
Appointing a coach that was last involved over 20 years ago will be interesting as well.

Marcellin lost their captain to Ivanhoe, jumped ship for cash and will be a one pointer there through the junior club. Not the only club struggling though.

Heard quite a few NFNL/EFNL clubs have a lot of yarra valley grammar and marcellin boys on their lists. Both struggling to win them over

The Marc boy and his family gave everything to that club. From what I have heard he is been paid less than a round trip on Jacinta’s new tunnel in the west.

Why is it when a VAFA player leaves to the NFNL or like comps, he is jumping ship, then if it’s the opposite when a NFNL goes back to he school club, he must be being paid.

The points system in paid leagues is not working .
I asked a coach in the EDFL if he was over the points and he said yes , but we will have injuries to make it work
A club close to us just offers 400 a game
