They are hardly gone. Their Reserves are on top of the ladder with a percentage of 300%. Enviable depth that will come in handy throughout June and July. Others above them on the ladder will have depth tested.

Its a perilous job coaching Xavs and you keep losing.

Gowers went down to Moe to play with mates and probably a bit of cash. I’m not sure he enjoyed his time at Xavs tie year all that much. Seems that Xavs are lacking the top liners they had last year and are playing with a pretty young side. Blooding these kids should hold them in good stead you’d think.

My lions were terrific on the weekend. Hibbins played the best game I’ve seen from him since 2019 and Sofronidis was clunking everything SKOBs midfielders booted forward. A very polished display from the lions without Mirra, but having silky players like Lachie Ferguson (first senior game since 2019) and Campbell Walker back from VFL added some polish to our forward line. SKOB had a few out, but they’ll be there when the whips are cracking.

Yes, I never quite got my head around this one. It seemed that Hawkins and Woodruff scraped into finals, they won three on the bounce including the grand final, then he got the lemonade and sars. Clearly there was more at play.

I know for a fact from a couple of players, that James McDonald, who replaced the co-coaches after the flag, was not that well received by the players due to his belief that they needed to train harder.

I fear for Byrne's coaching tenure if Old Xavs lose this week, I'm sure knives are being sharpened as we speak around the committee table.

3 and 4, or even 3 and 5 doesn't get the slaughtermen excited. You'll have to be a bit more patient.
