OS TRAVEL ?
Injuries mostly, I know every team has them but we are talking elite, top 10 blokes. Anyway, no excuses, let’s hope everyone enjoys the break and comes back fit and firing next week!

It will be interesting to see how many players from the top 4 clubs in VAFA Premier is going to be included in the Victorian team to play WA in mid July at Elsternwick Park.

Geez you jumped off the fifth placed SKOB pretty quickly Jase! No room for Mitch and Josh Wallis, Tom Jok etc?

I'd say probably a good chunk.

Someone asked David Mirra this at our lunch three weeks ago and he said he was keen to play as all the Victorian games he has played in at VFL level, the VFL side lost, so he wants to wear the Big V once again, if given the chance, and get a win.

I reckon the Vic v WA game has a double edged sword to it.

On the one hand, you'd want your best player(s) to perform well for the Big V, do the club proud and possibly put his name forward for AFL talent scouts at every AFL club to have a look at him and hopefully get drafted in November; on the other hand, there's always the risk of injury to your topline players come from this state game, especially with the business end of the season (ie finals) looming. Does Tony Hall's serious knee injury when he was tackled from behind by his Victorian opponent (and Hawthorn teammate in club level) Andrew Collins at the MCG in the 1989 Vic v SA State of Origin game ring a bell?

ding ding

There is little talk about the match on my side of the country.
I couldn't even tell you if it was Under 23s or not, where it is being played and when.

They just act as junkets for officials. Speaking of which, when's the next Guinness tasting session ... I mean, football series ... in Ireland?

Not an event that has had much chatter with us either Morty. I can confirm though Scott Selwood is unavailable 🤫

These for me too

The OS v Skobs should be a cracker. If OS get up it will show they are the real deal. Skobs really cant afford to drop this one.
Uncertainty will be in the mind for the rest of season should they do so. Dont give me injuries and absentees, everyone has them

Very surprised that the VAFA announced a 49-yes, 49- man squad for the representative game against WA on July 7. How will the VAFA selectors trim the bloated squad from 49 to the final 22? 49 into 22 just doesn't go.

Don't most pull out upon announcement?

Yesterday at uni was cold, blustery and cold. Stock standard at any footy ground come winter in Melbourne, but we wouldn't have it any other way in my view.

Mirra was dominant up forward with four goals, Pocknee with three goals too. Lachie Ferguson had his best game for the year and seems to be working himself into a bit of form as well.

Being 7-2 at the halfway mark is a great start for our lads.

OMs this week at VAFA HQ will be a good test for us.

In other news, I’m hearing several whispers that many in positions on the board of the Ox football club are getting very annoyed at being referred to as the ‘Red and Black mafia’ by Joey P. They don’t like the connotation’s that come with the saying, especially being a Jesuit school etc.

Might be time for Joey to file that one into the bin and press delete.

If the violin case fits, boo who.

Also so precious.

It’s a joke, or is it.

You know no one has ever died from being offended.

I remember when we played Xavs at school there was always a good smattering of stocky, dark haired kids with incredibly dark hairy
legs...very much a Calabrian fruiters decendent.....
