I'm sure if it was such an issue, then the committee or president at Old Xaverians would mention something to the VAFA board or CEO or even Joey himself.

Seems like a storm in a teacup Mr Platinum.

Good to know Mr Platinum.

Any idea on when Tom Jok will be back playing?
Not sure to be honest, hopefully within the next month. I think he’s played two games for the year, both under duress. He’d be really disappointed not making the state team, especially considering one player in that squad plays A grade reserves!

Whos that?

Looks like Joey took the comment to heart according to the latest VAFA podcast.

Has Dermott Dann issued him a cease and desist yet? 😂 Joey needs to relax, this website is just banter otherwise we’d be using our actual names.

I think it’s all good banter I think, there shouldn’t be letters being issued. At the end of the day, it’s amateur football for goodness sake. We aren’t playing for sheep stations.

Joe is awesome, a great asset to the VAFA and all teams.

I also heard on the VAFA podcast yesterday that a young fella from Collegians, Kenny Ong, was an incorrect omission from the initial Big V squad and has been added to the squad of 49.

Hope all Coll boys withdraw from the squad...serves no purpose.
Harsh call FF, I think rep footy is great. We have 5 boys listed in that squad who have never played senior Big V footy for the VAFA before, so if they get a call up it'll be a great experience.

For some, it is the highest level of footy they've ever played and it's great to encourage blokes to push themselves to strive for this. Good performances in these games can get blokes drafted, look at Tom Jok, Isaac Smith in recent times as examples of this.

The only prize they need to have their minds on is the GF and winning it. Sure a "V" is nice, but it is irrelevant when the season finishes...
But having said that.....each to their own....

The problem with this is that SKOB win the flag every year, so unless you play for SKOB, you should be aiming to play for the big V 😜

Regarding Kenny, I was more than perplexed at his non-selection, I suppose this can happen when you are trying to appease all stakeholders.

I’m gonna try for a five for this week:
Scotchies VFL
Wesley AFL
Caulfield XCrossing
BluesAFL
SKOBVFL at the College. Don’t lose

I would usually be slightly frustrated at yet another example of the 'great divide' in the VAFA and how they again showcase the inequity of opportunity between the Premier and Divisional clubs. But to be frank, I am 'kind of' happy that the Big V concept is all about the Premier clubs these days and that the divisional clubs get very little opportunity to participate. It saves us losing our best players to premier clubs after such events take place

Chump :trophy:

I'm aware that this used to happen a fair bit, but hasn't happened too much of late.

I think wires may have been crossed about dates and he may have thought he wasn't available, but he's available and has put his hand up to play!
