I'm aware that this used to happen a fair bit, but hasn't happened too much of late.
In fairness Mike, we haven't played alot of Big V footy in recent years. It was pretty bad back in the day, especially when we had the C-G sides playing in the warm up game. It was like a scouting clinic for the Premier clubs. We lost 5 players in three years and if others - including our Captain at the time who was 'offered' significant encouragement - did not say no thanks - then that number would have been more.

Anyway, all clubs have a right to ask players and put their pitch forward, I get that and it happens every year in lots of ways. It's also the responsibility of clubs to provide an environment that players want to stay part of. I just thought it could make for some fun and interesting chatter on a Friday :)

Old Scotch loading up for a premiership tilt. Jordan Lewis and Ted Richards transfers on the go, wowza.

They’re the new Uni Blues.
Glamour recruits is what I’m all about XXXAFL.
Xavs and SKOBFC could do with an injection as well. They are playing with 24 and 25 Player Points respectively today. They just don’t try anymore

Final four set now after today’s results
Holding pattern until mid August
Mass exodus from Melbourne

OH - ones knock over scotch at cambers, 2s can’t make quorum?

Normally in the past this would lead to the senior side not being able to play for points, but that must have changed.

I noticed that OH's under 19s played Monash Blues and had a very comfortable win but couldn't promote a few of those under 19s boys to have a game in their seconds.

Good win by Collegians on Saturday. The game was essentially all over at the 90 second mark of the second quarter when Collegians kicked two goals into the wind at HQ after kicking 5.3 in the first with the wind.

Mirra played with two men against him for the whole day, but still managed to work hard and kick 6, including 4 in the first quarter. Skipper Sam Hibbins is hitting his straps and Viv Michie continues to show everyone week in and week out why he's such a star and has been for such a long time, he is so poised and never wastes a possession. Having a couple of our young (Wesley educated from year 7) VFL listed boys like Dan Orgill and Ben Woodfull in the side on the weekend helped quite a bit and both played very well.

This week's first versus second clash at the Harry Trott will be an absolutely sensational game and may even be a preview for finals. Go lions!

Still thinking Xavs to miss at this stage..Cant see them getting over Coll (at home) Uni Blues and maybe OS (at home).
Needed to beat Skobs last sat.
They ran into the strongest SKOBAFL team this season with only 24 Player points of their own. Any reinforcements on the way?

Well they do have good depth to call on,( unlike U Blues). Im not privvy to Xavs injuries etc. Is there anyone "big" out
at the moment? If so may explain a feww things..

Matt Handley played two’s on the weekend, neither team at full strength, but who is other than Collegians at the moment?
Harry Hill heading off overseas this week, as are several OX players.

OH pick up James Magner

FWIW and Will Fordham from the EFNL.
Is Magner an OH boy so won’t need to apply for a permit? Hmm that’s a good process. So rather than take a pay cut and fight relegation for StK City he is moving for nothing to fight relegation.

Whilst I love my XXXXAFL recruits the names mentioned here in the last week are too old. Young man’s game now

A journeyman footballer if ever there was one, has played at more professional clubs than I’ve had hot dinners. He has been a paid professional footballer this year, why should he all of a sudden qualify for an amateur permit?

This is where the relaxed ‘amateur’ rules should not allow a permit IMO, it’s a piss take.
