Journalist question regarding Walsh;

"Do you think he was underused a bit at St. Kilda?"

Longmire says: "No, well I just think he's only played a couple of years of football, so in the end..."

Longmire thinks: "Trolololololololooollllllll!"

Lol wtf Morton, but kickboxing is an incedible way to build fitness so at least his mind is right.

Add me to the brigade who are nonplussed by Jetta's lack of fitness. We can only assume/hope they were running into the wind.

Bloody Oath, I saw a fight night in Phuket at the end of September. Those guys are crazy fit to fight in that humidity for 5 rounds.

Gee Walsh is bigger than what i thought. Everyone said he was a bit of a man mountain, but gee he has some size about him.
By all accounts he is pretty quick of the mark as well....

Surprised to read Spangher took out the 3km time trial, Go Spang!

Anyone have times for the different groups?

They won't post the official times unfortunately. You might hear mention of it for an individuals time in a review or something like they'd knocked off 30 seconds or beat their personal best. But never the official time.

He beat Kizza though which surprises me. Perhaps that's a reflection on Kiz rather than Spang

Re the times theyve mentioned in the past that they don't do official times because it's not an exact course

ok, thanks guys but I didnt really care about how good the times were specifically for 3kms but I was interested in the times between the kids, seniors and the old farts.. I noticed in the photo gallery that a few at the start who wore watches clicked their times.. Pretty sure there would be some sort of rough result somewhere.

Thought I'd post this here, any of the ressie watchers know much about Harry Cunningham? I heard a way back that if he wasn't taken by GWS as a zone selection we'd be looking at him with pick 43. Obviously that didn't happen but we have invited him to train with us for the moment. Is he good enough to earn a rookie spot? What type of player is he?

We had 1 inside and 1 outside veteran in 2011, we moved the outside vet back to inside.

In: Kelly?? You mean Alex Brown?

The reason for the discrepency is because last year I believe Goodes was a veteran outside the list, this year they put him inside.

Edit: Already Said

SYDNEY Swan midfielder Lewis Jetta admits his fitness deteriorated during a break from the club and he is now feeling the effects of one of the toughest pre-seasons he has endured.

Jetta told sydneyswans.com.au that he was throwing up after a training session on Monday and when he returned to the club a month ago he was "shocked" by his poor times during 3km time trials.

Walsh left St Kilda at the end of the season and has the Swans - and their fans - salivating after impressing in the International Rules Series where he represented Ireland.

Jetta had nothing but praise for "the big dude", saying his pre-season form was also outstanding.

Others who have been performing well in the pre-season are South African-born Eugene Kruger, Trent Dennis-Lane and and Craig Bird, who enjoyed a breakout year in 2011.

Not the greatest way for LJ to come back especially after a somewhat disappointing year...

Great to hear about TLD training well though... (I still have allot of hopes for him)

That is seriously pathetic from Jetta. Shows you what happens when someone is undeservingly gifted senior games and not made to earn their place through an extended period in the reserves.

For a club that's respected for it's work ethic and culture, we know how to find the soft lazy ones with first round picks.

Walsh on the other hand, what a beast.

Well if nothing else, Morton is saying all the right things. Let's hope he can deliver.
Yeah agreed, he didn't seem to have the arrogance about him which I've previously thought. He seems to know his place at the club and realise that he'll have to work his butt off to get into the side. Exciting times for Mitchy.

There's a small bit of footage during a goodes interview which shows jetta walking along the boundary while goodes comes bolting past him, he has a look at goodes approaching and starts to jog. It may just be the small piece of footage (jetta looked spent and may have been training for a while before goodes started) or it may just be me being overly critical, but combined with his self-assessment that he hasn't come back in the greatest shape, I'm concerned about his application. He looked a little flabby for such a skinny guy as well.

On a positive note, Reid looked great in his footage, can't wait to watch him in 2012, and Walsh looks like a beast, seems like he's got every bit of determination required to get the best out of himself
