Geelong have used the pick (39) that we traded for Prismall on Steven Motlop.

Thoughts...

Would we of drafted someone different if we still had that pick?

Players taken after 39 but before 55 of note.
Robinson (40)
Heyne (48)
Lisle (50)
Walters (53)

Walters. But i am very happy with Prismall. I think this is the overwhelming consensus.

Spot on:thumbsu:. Nice thread, particularly acknowledging that in all likelihood we would not have picked motlop ourselves. Overall, our recruiters seem to have done well out of the trade/draft this year so far, im satisfied.

It's way too early to be making any calls, saying we've got this one wrong or right is similar to saying Laycock's a quality AFL ruckman, which would make that call/statement complete and utter crap.

We're happy with the price we got Prismall for, which is great.
Will it ultimately prove to be the right move? We'll have to wait and see...

Really looking forward to how Prismall goes this year. Happy with that trade. :thumbsu:

I was disappointed when he was traded, don't believe he had any serious opportunities at Geelong, but came off the bench as reward for his reserves performances.
I believe he was to restricted when given game time and made to play wide of the corridor where Ablett, etc, were.
Anyway I hope all goes well, the injury heals 100% and he prooves the goods.

Meto.

exciting to add Zaharakis and Prismall to our midfield group whilst keeping Lovett on board and hoping for players such as Myers, Dyson, Lonergan and Houli to further develop plus small forwards such as Monfries, Davey and Jetta to get more time through the middle in 09. We will have plenty of Depth plus our key backs and key forwards look set for 10 years. A.Welsh as a great tagger in the comp aswell.

Key possible Backs : Ryder, Hurley, Pears, Myers
Key Forwards for future: Gumbleton, Neagle, Hurley, Still (may need to draft one with 1st rounder next year)

I think the 4 players mentioned are all very good players plus A.Cornelius who is a good FF type that we couldve also picked instead of Still. But i think Prismall is needed as he is ready made and still young plus he looks to be a great player and the others arent assured. I think with our pick 39 we may have taken Cornelius or Okeffe or Walters/Heyne.

Very optimistic on Ricky Dyson DWD......

Just thought he could become something decent. He has shown in games that he can turn it on and play some really good football. I remember him dominating a game early in NAB cup when in the guts where he kicked 2 goals and gained 30 or 32 possies IIRC. He also displayed some one off games in 08 and 07 if he can become more consistant and use his pace and skill through the middle he coudl become a good depth midfielder. It is optimistic but he's good to watch when hes on, he has potential but i believe we shouldve traded him when we could. Hopefully he can do alright this year on a wing and kick those booming long goals. Pace, carries the footy well and can find the ball outside just needs to go inside and win it more himself and grow some balls and than he will become a good foootballer.

I also think Dyson can make it.
Many doubt his ability to play at AFL level.
He can provide some more speed in the centre or some pace off half back.

I have been happy with the price we got for Prismall all along. Despite the fact he probably won't play much footy next year, I think if he recovers from the injury well he could add a lot to the team in years to come.

Dyson WON"T make it, i'll be very suprised if he is on our list next year.

As for Prismall, i'm not the biggest fan of him, but Prismall Sh!ts on any other player that was suggested in the OP..
I'll take any bets that he is on our list next year... there are no more opportunities to cut blokes in the next 3 weeks

Dyson's just "meh" as a footballer

Very happy to have Prismall.

Hope this does not turn into one of those comparison threads like "Look at what Rioli has done, wheres Myers" Or "We should have had selwood, hes better so far than Gumbi" You know the type of thread i mean.
