Looks like the Demo is out tomorrow for PS3 at least.
Looking forward to it after a very very disappointing start to the next gen consoles (i really despised Pro Evo 08).

One downer still won't completely sway my loyalty from the great Pro Evo franchise though although i will buy FIFA 09 just to try it out.

Let's hope this rocks!
 
Just bought FIFA 09 today. Definitely a keeper. Was actually completely blown away. FIFA always had the graphics (and they look unbelievable on my 1080P LCD) but have now got the gameplay to match it.

Can Pro Evo trump this? I'm hoping like hell it can but it would be a huge effort.

What?? Are they taking it in turns?? Last year it was Spurs and Newcastle.

Also I hope transfers are done in real currency and not that points crap.

My sentiments exactly. It's going to take a massive effort for Pro Evolution to knock FIFA 09 off.

FIFA 09 has just about done everything right. If Pro Evo comes up better It's going to be the best year for Football gamers EVER.

Hopefully Komani get their act together and produce another corker!
 
Haven't played FIFA 09 yet, but Pro Evo has always been the better game imo.

FIFA has the licenses and better graphics (usually) but for me PES trumps it in every other way. I'm probably going against the trend but I love PES08, it's still my favourite game and I actually enjoy it more now than when I first played it.

Even with the obvious glitches in PES08 (Players getting caught in the net, the regularity in which long free kicks lob past the keeper, inaccurate commentary, unable to lose a penalty shoot-out with straight low kicks etc) it's still so much fun and the gameplay is perfect.

Looking at the trailers for the new PE it looks stunning and will be a must buy for me, but I'll def. rent FIFA as usual and just hope that they've finally put it all together.
 
PES08 has been the best soccer game ive played (XBOX360).

Ive just purchased a PSP. Will PES09 be available on that?

I feel the same way...

Pre-ordered PES2008 last year - was really looking forward to it. Then I played it a few times and was extremely disappointed, not just with the gameplay but also the little things like menu navigation and the removal of match statistics.
After about a month, I just couldn't be bothered playing it anymore - too annoying.
However, I decided to give it another go around April and stuck with it this time. I gotta say, it wasn't too bad the 2nd time round and I almost got that PES addiction back.

Looking forward to a much improved PES2009 though, and given what I've read about FIFA, I reckon I'll give that a go as well after 10 years away from it.

Great game, anyone else got it? It is pretty damn realisitc which I love about it, but I am just a bit annoyed at become a legend mode. The comp is really dumb, they hardly pass to you and I am not sure if there is a "call" button like there is in FIFA. It is still fun and all, its just frustrating that your in a great position and your team mates will dribble to nowhere and pass backwards, its good they might try find an opening but when you create some pretty clear cut ones for no reward then yeah...Also the shootings a bit sus :| Great game overall though don't get me wrong.

Don't know if its the version I got or what, but I just got into my 12th game as "Become a Legend" mode and it has hell screwed up, might be a big bug? I had like 5 keepers and random players vs 6 keepers and random players, I mean Tony Warner scored, Duke scored and they are keepers (I am Hull, joined them, verse fulham). And even more unbelievable, Danny Murphy scored! and a hat-trick to boot. BIG BUG THERE :P But in all seriousness, it just crashed at like 65th minute, I got back into it and my game is pretty much corrupt now :( damn just got myself into the seniors on the bench a few games ago oh well...and i just made myself look so handsome.
 
The game is already out in Europe and is therefore already out on the web via torrents.

It comes out in Aus on the 30th I think

This 12th game thing is apparently a universal bug. I'm not sure if it's just for pirated torrent copies but I think that it might affect the legit games as well. Hopefully there is a patch by the Aussie release date.

It's about a 7 gig torrent download. That'd take far too long with my crappy ADSL 512k (and I mean crappy) and I have exams now

look for that, great compression as always by this Skullptura person got a few of the persons games, not sure if you are a Football Manager 09 fan (no its not out yet :D) was just gonna say the day it comes out is the weekend before my uni exams start, sucks to be me :(:thumbsd:

I've read differing reports about this game, some have said it's rubbish and the same as last year (but they might just be FIFA fan boys), others have said it's had a complete overhaul and is awesome.

I know there aren't a lot of people who liked PES 08 but I thought it was great, then again I mainly played co-op which is always better.

Looking forward to this one, I have to go away for a stupid work thing this weekend so I am glad it's out next week.

It has the champions league in it which i find really cool with the music playing in the background, good lil video of last seasons highlights, and they bring out the teams lil banners etc which i find cool :)

It is better than last year, nice graphics they actually look like the players, move like the players, bit annoying the shooting is sometimes bit off and the players turn really strange, but it is far better than Fifa 09 on PC. Good improvement I do think its a great game, have a go for yourself and dl it or buy it if thats your thing. Either way it is worth it in my opinion, just the biomechanics and all looks realistic :)
 
bah a few annoying things about the game:

Why is Kennedy a better shot than Van Persie, seriously van persie is utterly useless in the game while kennedy scores crackers from like 25 yards:confused:

Computer is still a bit bullshit. Like every deflection will go to them, they tackle so perfectly even though Walcott can outrun most of them they will catch up some how with this perfect challenge. Also notice the fact that everytime they do a random clearance it always ends right to one of there places, in real life how often do random clearances go to your own team mates? One more little whinge before I go is whenever your defending whether it be from a corner or just in general play chasing someone, why does it automatically switch player I mean that is so dumb your about to mark someone or chase them down and it switches player...this normally results in a free header or easy 1 on 1 chance it is so dumb. They need to fix these problems before they fix the graphics its ridiculous. Anyway I still love it, just dunno why they can't get it right for once.
 
You should be able to fix that switch player problem but changing a setting...

Last PES it was where you choose sides I think, there is an option to change how often the player is automatically switched, just set it to Manual.
