Leagues

The following leagues are fully licensed:[6]

More info there mate.

It has the champions league in it which i find really cool with the music playing in the background, good lil video of last seasons highlights, and they bring out the teams lil banners etc which i find cool :)

It is better than last year, nice graphics they actually look like the players, move like the players, bit annoying the shooting is sometimes bit off and the players turn really strange, but it is far better than Fifa 09 on PC. Good improvement I do think its a great game, have a go for yourself and dl it or buy it if thats your thing. Either way it is worth it in my opinion, just the biomechanics and all looks realistic :)

Thanks mate.

I'm not worried about licences because I'm not a huge soccer nut and rarely even play big seasons. I just like getting in and having some fun games and I've always preferred the PES gameplay. For total depth and immersion, I play Football Manager because even FIFA's depth pales in comparison there.

1.4 gig compression? That's unbelievable!!!

Does that 1.4 gig thing have the legend mode crash after 12 games bug?

I'd probably wait until buying it because then you get a proper CD key for online.

Can anyone tell me if it's more difficult than 08? I played the game far too much and in the end even the highest difficulty was far too easy against an evenly matched opponent.

Hey man, from what i gather I find it a bit easier than last year to be honest....but I havent played pro evo that much so I play Regular and the one above, not sure how hard the "hardest" difficulty is. Its a good game though man, I would defs buy it if I had money :D

Picked up a copy from Game in Camberwell today. Only place I've seen it in stock, as it isn't due to go on sale till next week. A little disppointed to see the squads aren't 100% up to date. Hopefully an update patch is released. Only had a quick go at UEFA Champions league on regular and lost in the round of 16, 4 goals to 3 on aggregate. Edited Skrtel and Dossena as they both had longish hair. anyway, back to it...

Picked it from EB today. A few places have it on PS3 but EB was the only place I found with PC and not many of it. Not sure about 360

Let me know if anyone else gets it on PC and we can set up some matches. Playing vs anyone but Aussies is a lagfest with my crappy ADSL 512k. Hopefully ADSL 2+ will fix that.

Legend mode is quite fun. I found the "pass to me" button finally so I actually touch the ball a bit. When you play legend mode online though I can't seem to be able to use the player camera that I use offline which is annoying :(

Also, is it possible to do like exhibition legend mode games where you play as like Lampard or some other star?

I like it better than FIFA 09 PC for sure, I am sure it has been said before but why do they make FIFA 09 on PC like so average compared to it on XBOX? The one on the XBOX is great fun as I know a mate who has got it, but for PC Pro Evo 09 > Fifa 09 no questions asked.

I am playing it on PC if you got any questions I really need a controller though probably should just gank my mates PC controller.

I played this last night too and the Champions League is mental, absolutely brilliant.

Squads aren't up to date but a patch should fix that.

How true is that how freaking awesome is it when you play champs league first time it actually got me so pumped to play just the music and the atmosphere it creates...But yeah there is a patch out now, for those without the patch play the game on 1280*980 as your max reso or anything lower. The game will crash on the 12th game if you do not do this. Patch is probably better though I dont have it but yeah hopefully it does these little updates because I noticed a few players weren't at their new respective clubs.

Any FIFA 09 comparisons yet RoosterLand? I'm pretty sure you have both?

Who here is playing it on PC?

Both are great games but I've always been a PES fan so did enjoy it a bit more, but I haven't played that many PES games, hopefully will have another crack today.

I read on Whirlpool that EA Sports bought all the rights to new trades after August which is why PES doesn't have them. Bizarre.

@ freofan, maybe I'll hit you up for an online game sometime? You can only really play against Aussies on this. Since you are in Perth and I'm in Melbourne it still might be a bit dodgy :(

I've noticed that they've moved the skill stick to the direction pad/left analogue stick which is what you use to move with anyway....why the **** would they do that?

Now the right analogue stick, which used to be used for tricks, is just left for manual passing which I've never used. Now if you stuff up a trick your player will move around wierdly whereas before he'd just not do the trick if you stuffed it up with the right analogue stick.

Hopefully I can get used to it or ultimately change it back but I don't think that you can.

Graphics are very good when maxed out on a good PC. Can you force AA on to make it better? I haven't tried that.

Am looking forward to giving this a crack. As a long time pes fan i was quite annoyed at the poor attempt last year. Fortunately Ive never actually singled myself off as a fifa or pes exclusive fan. FIFA's annoyances this year are starting to get to me, so pes will fill that void for a while. Should be getting it next saturday. BTW my online cracked the shits last year so i could never play online, hopefully this wont be the case this year.

May I ask how?

I've played a few games but I struggle to get into the game when it's just training matches.

I've mainly played exhibition games but it's good to chuck in the odd cup or tournament. I'm not sure if I could last a whole season though.

Master League needs to be scrapped though. It's barely been changed in ages and has lost all of its charm. I know that PES has always been about gameplay over features, in comparison to FIFA, but with FIFA's gameplay catching up PES has to change things.

I'm personally not too bothered because I play FM for an in-depth soccer experience. I play PES for really fun gameplay.

Also, have you noticed that now if a player can't do a trick, like a Marsailles Roulette, he just simply won't even attempt it? In previous versions he'd do it but it'd stuff up and the ball would go no where.

1) this is perhaps dumbing the game down a little, not letting you make the mistake of trying to do it with lesser players
2) sometimes you aren't sure if your player simply can't do the trick or you have not wiggled the joystick properly
3) it'd be much better if there was a gradient as for how successful the trick is. Guys like Ronaldo don't even execute it 100% of the time and guys like [insert Soccer's equivilent of Simon Godfrey] can pull one out of the bag every now and then. Remember his dummy handpass to fool Pendlediddlebury in 07 before slotting it 45 out on his non preferred right?

Become A Legend is basically the Master League but of course you control one player and not the whole team. You get to play in all of the Cups as well as International Qualifiers for whichever country you choose. FIFA's version has just league, league, league and then an International Friendly chucked in which makes it pretty boring.

It does appear boring at start with the training games, but just try your hardest in those matches and try and get a spot on the bench. That is where the game really takes off. It becomes an incredible game when you start playing for the first team, you could come off the bench with 15 to go and become a hero, or when you play well consistently you are rewarded with a starting berth. If your form drops then you get dropped.

Just try and get through the training matches because it is brilliant after that.

There are also a shitload of individual awards to win as well.

With EA Sports you should give up with any PC versions.

PES, on the other hand, is far superior on computer because the graphics are crisper and it's easier to mod (although PS3 and 360 aren't too hard for this game it seems)

PES has the exactly same "next-gen" engine on PC as it does on 360 and PS3, always has. PES 08 actually had some bad lag issues on PS3 especially. I'm not sure if that's been fixed for 09 but I haven't had any lag on PC (granted I have a very good computer though).

What are your computer specs?

2.7ghz AMD 64 X2 dual processor
2 gb ram
Nvidia 8600gt
Vista
keeping in mind i have a 22 inch monitor as well.

I have read the recommended specs and my comp fits it, but I'm just a bit worried that it won't be enough to run on a bigger monitor (at least not in higher resoloution). But then again I wouldn't really care if I had to run it at medium settings and it's relatively cheap. In fact that's what deterred me from buying it at JB, it was a bit too cheap and I thought it was because the PC version is dumbed down.

They are becoming cheaper because they are yearly instalments and people are getting smarter with their purchases.
