Proposal to include premierships dating back to 1870 gathering pace

All of the stats on the Premier League website refer to it's commencement in 1992/93. This screenshot is from a news article written by a third-party.
Thanks for clarifying, silly me for taking the post on face value.

Like I said months ago, we simply need the old fool to either die off or toddle off to a nursing home. It’s now embarrassing.
Isn’t the next AFL Commission Chairman going to be Craig Drummond, a former Geelong President? With Carter’s proposal now being progressed to the AFL Heritage Committee for formal consideration, any final decision will need to be approved by the AFL Commission?

The most overlooked year in VFL/AFL history imo. :)
Such controversy! Carlton and Melbourne are still arguing today who is the rightful 1869 Premier.

First time an umpire on the field (ruining the game forever).

No Challenge Cup (to be restored the year after by generous donation of the South Yarra FC)

1869 - end of an era.

As in 1870 five clubs break loose to form a non-existent League.

These first five brave AFL clubs were:

Albert Park Parkites
Carlton Blue Baggers
Hobson’s Bay Railway
Melbourne Fuchsias
South Yarra Those red and white beauties
