PSD/Rookie Draft

Unless there seems to be a stand-out young guy (which there doesn't appear to be) wouldn't we be better to get in Jed Adcock to give a bit of depth in the midfield whilst we develop the youngers guys.

Moore has just been delisted by port... I wouldn't mind using our first in the psd for him

Yeah as dfa seems a reasonable get.
Would obviously come cheap money wise.

Our midfield is very shallow could do with the extra depth and is still young enough.

May play a bit too much like Curnow and kerridge though

Is Anthony Morabito worth looking at? Clearly had his injuries but I understand he'll be delisted by Freo. Obviously very talented & a Top 22 with just about any team when right. Only 23 years old.

There was talk that we fishing about for Brad McKenzie @ North, perhaps use for him under BB?
Oxley would be signed up soon you think unless Brisbane is making a play for him in the PSD for a returning QLD'er.

Been through a lot, a bit like Woodward at the Hawks with the recurring knee injuries but worse.
Think it'd be tough to come back to AFL after the time spent out of the game but a rookie spot would be best served as will be the case with Hawks & Woodward this time around (unless someone else grabs him before them on their re-drafting efforts, and we were supposedly interested just before he re-injured his knee).

Could do worse I suppose... 46 goals in the VFL last season means that he isnt a spud like Jones.

The article says that they tried to find a new home for him last year, but failed so they rookied him. BB would quite possibly know all about him as well.

They dont usually get it wrong - but I suspect our new coach knows all that need knowing ?
It'd be hard breaking into a settled premiership forward line really... I don't think that they got it wrong... it's just that they don't have the room for him.

You don't spend 6 years at the Hawks for only 3 games, no matter how good their forward line is - particularly when they've had a progression of ordinary ruckmen through the club.

There must be a reason he wasn't given game time and I wouldn't like to find out - pass.

Spencer White is an X factor - Rookie shot at best but on limited spots - next. Sam Grimley isn't a bad option though I reckon we will look long and hard at Harry McKay at Pick 11 - next. The one I like from the list is Shane Kersten. Vividly remember Neil Balme saying when he was at Cats that Kersten was legit and not for trade. Cats think very highly of him. But geez, he's got a lot in front of him at the cattery. Active player who can kick goals. Bit undersized (191cm) but has solid weight (96kg). Right age (22) and fits a need IMO. Jones as the lead up, Cas the pack breaker, Kersten the Gunston factor.

I'll trust BB on this one.

I like the look of Jacob Ballard (freo) contested ball winner, Jared Hardisty (Hawks) tough inside mid, Marlon Pickett tough and explosive with X Factor or Shane Yarran WAFL leading goal kicker 54 goals as a small forward.

I'd go with an extra rookie, personally.

We have just brought 5 new players in seeking opportunity on top of the swathe of existing 21-24 year olds that need game time.

I don't mind Jarrad Grant as a PSD/DFA. Good size (193cm) outside/fwd. played avg 10 games a year including 19 in their strongest year yet. Real clean mover. Former #5 pick. Only 26. Dunno what it is, just something about him. His experience could come in handy. Not injured or a D-head. What am I missing.

It's the noggin.
