My understanding is we have second pick in PSD.
So we do a favourable deal with WCE using Tambling, we have a reasonable history with them with the Morton trade and helping them get a better deal when they got Judd. So we come to a gentlemens agreement with the eagles to push player x into the PSD.

The obvious player x would be Griggs from Carlton. :thumbsu: and we get him for basically nothing.

It's about time we used the PSD and got someone good for free....

Yeah but its not worth it if there not offering as much for Bling (a 3rd round pick).

True that GC don't take part in the PSD but they do have access to any uncontracted players before the actual PSD so in affect they can pick up Griggs if they like, the rubbish that is left then go into the PSD.

yes but griggs would have to agree to terms with gc.

My point being is that we should use the PSD as a huge bargaining tool to push a few good players into the psd... and scoring a player for basically nothing.

We have wasted to many PSD picks over the years... it's time we played hard ball and upset as few clubs...

Carlton supporters seem to rate Grigg highly. I haven't really liked much of what I've seen although it's only a bit I've seen. He better not be a dud if we get him

If there is nothing good then just pick a young kid that didnt get drafted like we have the last few times.

Grigg is worth the interest i reckon - he can get a lot of the ball and is the type of guy who can be a very good forward / back flanker or winger. I doubt we will try and use the PSD to get him for free - its not our style and clubs seem to be going against that type of thing. WE have always been a very respectable team when it comes to trades

Eagles do have a decent trade history with the Tigers and even though it really can't be measured or factored in every Eagles fan and most likely players and staff are somewhat gratefull for what the Tigers did for Cuz.:thumbsu:

We did practically give Morton away.

Sure we can agree to pass on Griggs in the PSD.

Tambling and Rance for pick 28 and Spangher?

And you also are guaranteed to get Griggs for free.;):thumbsu:

I understand that Daniher has met with Tambling but he has also been talking with the Crows. Crows may need to focus on getting Jacobs from the Blues before making a play for Tambling.

Hmmm..that's now both you & Bazaar that don't rate him.. I'm starting to warm to the idea of getting him now...:o

No thanks on Spangher. And leave Rance out of this! Tambling for 28 and you pass on Griggs (if we decide we definitely want him, which I am not entirely sold on).

The idea is we also work with you guys so you can pressure someone into the psd as well.

The Rance for Spangher I would take. And Tambling for 28 might do the deal. So that deal would be win win.
So basically we swap Tambling and get 28 with the freedom to push Griggs into the psd and screw Carlton.... who I'm sure the eagles would like to screw over for the way they handled the Judd deal.

We then help the eagles get another quality player to fall to the psd...:thumbsu:

What ever peoples opinion of Greg Miller is, this is what he was good at.... just picked the wrong players

this looks a little better.

Picking the wrong players is why he appeared to be able to do decent deals. Other clubs couldn't wait to deal with him to move on their duds.

Getting rid of rance would be a loss because he has not reached anywhere near his potential so his value is low. He was pick 18, will only be 21 next year and could quite come out of his shell with the right coaching. We should be able to get better than pick 28 for tambling otherwise he is worth keeping.

I don't see the need to hand over Tambo at a reduced price to WC, so that they let Grigg slip to PSD #2. If Grigg does go to PSD (don't think he will - Houli will be taken), WC will definately not pick up a player who doesn't want to play their and is a Vic lad (Go home factor).
For me, the deals would need to be:
Houli PSD
Grigg (3rd rounder or a deal involving Thursty)
Tambling (Pick between 15-25)
Thursty (Pick between 30-45 or Grigg)

far points. Although I think Thursfield is worth more.
