Opinion Put it on the line. Who do you want to draft in 2021?

I may have missed it but I don't think we actually have a thread on who people want to draft for their team in 2021.

Now for this thread I am talking realistically. Sydney have what will essentially be pick 18 in this years draft after some father/son selections so I am not going to say "Sydney should get Horne-Francis in this years draft" as that is not realistic.

Would be a good thread to look back on in years time and see who is good at identifying talent on this board, or who is a little crap (who who is lucky).

So for pick 18 I want one of

Chesser - Reminds me a little of McInerney to be honest, likes to run and seems to be a strong kick and decision maker. I like him.

Taylor - Another good kick and decision maker. Doesn't look like he will ever be a star as such, but looks like he can be a very very solid player. Might be a bit of a reach at pick 18 but to be honest looking at him I am really struggling to see why he isn't rated in the teens.

Sonsie - Looks to be a very classy player who can certainly kick a goal. I don't know enough about him in terms of his ability to find the ball but if he is good at that then he is someone I definitely want.

Pick 31

Bazzo - Mostly a needs based selection here. Good size and we need a KPD.

Pick 39

Probably Corey Warner, mostly because I love his brother and would love to have the Warner Bros at Sydney. Corey is apparently more of an outside player than his brother though that isn't a problem.

Trading back in - Jesse Motlop. Our forward line is mostly repurposed mids and defenders with Weightman as a generalist, and a speedy crumbing type with genuine forward skills would be fantastic.
With our late pick - Charlie Dean. We have a couple of C-grade CHB candidates but I'd like to see how Dean could develop in that role.

1- JHF
20 - one of Wilmot, JVR, Brown

After that, best tall and running defenders, maybe a fast small forward.

Zac Taylor with our first, trade up to get Tom Brown as well, and then two of Knevitt, Alleer, Howes, Butler, Bazzo, Lord, Macdonald, Hough, Dean, Long, Conway, Sheldrick or Roberts - if possible - would be my dream draft.

Rookie Pick for Fejo Jr. and then someone speculative with our last pick like local boy Oscar Morrison. DFA's in both Stengle and Schlensog (if the latter chooses us), and that would be an epic haul that would start us well on our way to rejuvenating the list.

:)

5. Ward
21. Knevitt/Taylor/Butler
24. Clarke (or one of the above 3 if any are still available).

Later picks:
Howes (my prediction for a slider)
Fejo Jr.

Rookie: Fergus Greene

Realistic for the Lions in preference order-

16- Josh Goater/Josh Sinn.
20- Darcy Wilmot/Mitch Owens.

40 something- Sam Banks/Leek Alleer.

The Hawks need to rejuvenate their midfield, so I'm hoping we'll use our first three picks on just that.

5. Josh Ward - Hobbs/Erasmus

21. Zac Taylor - Chesser

24. Matthew Roberts - MacDonald

Ideally we'd package up 21+24 and trade back into the first round to get Sonsie.

Ward + Sonsie would be ****ing brilliant.
