Scenario 1: we keep our current picks

4: Callaghan if miraculously available, Erasmus if Callaghan is gone (note: we aren’t taking Erasmus here so this is a pipe dream)

33: Murley

75 or rookie: Either of Lohmann or Fejo if still available

Scenario 2: we trade up to pick 2 by involving pick 4 and a swap of future firsts or something

Pick 2: Callaghan

The others remain the same

Scenario 3: we split pick 4 and end up with something like picks 6 and 19 from Freo or 7 and 15 from Richmond

6-7: Rachele
15-19: Whichever of Goater, Sinn, Draper, Wanganeen-Milera, M Johnson or Knevitt is still left on the board (preferences in order, at least one and maybe even two will be there IMO)
Late pick: Lohmann or Fejo

I much prefer scenarios 2 and 3 over scenario 1 to be honest so very much hoping to trade Pick 4.

We need some luck, so for p25 , if there’re sliders, Draper or Sonsie would be a steal , otherwise any one of Butler, Clarke, Motlop would be a very good outcome too.

My dream scenarios are one of:

7 - Ward/Hobbs/Gibcus/Erasmus

15 - Amiss/Johnson/Sinn

26/27/28 - Bazzo, Williams, Alleer, Van Rooyen, Chesser, Goater, Knevitt, Howes,

Obviously how many mids/forwards/defenders/flankers we select is dependant on those first two picks where we go best available.

I'm honestly not fussed who we pick at 13, NWM, Sinn, Johnson, Goater, Amiss, Sonsie, and Rachele all look like quality prospects. NWM is my favourite player in this pool, he's got elite foot skills, can hit the scoreboard (not prolific, but capable), think he suits the way Essendon play, would allow Langford to go forward. He doesn't need to be this contested ball winner, which he's getting criticised for. He'd be my first choice, and i'd take him over Hobbs, Gibcus, Ward ( due to having similar profile already) from an Essendon perspective. I think St Kilda takes NWM, so i'd then be a toss up between Johnson and/or Sinn for my second choice. Johnson would add another point of difference in our midfield, would give us that needed midfield depth, has great foot skills, clean hands, can impact going forward, really like this player. Sinn is another player, who i'd love us consider, has leadership skills, great by foot, i think he can be an Issac smith type player and Essendon now have truly quality coaches, who can develop his attributes to play midfield.

Pick 10 - Any one of Erasmus, Ward, Hobbs or Johnson. If all 4 are gone I would be desperate to trade back for 15 and 28, 16 and 31 or 21 and 24(Hawthorn probably wouldn't do this I know). Failing a trade back involving 2 later picks in this draft I'd settle for 1 later pick in this draft and a future 2nd.

Pick 29/35 - Sheldrick or Roberts please. All the Sheldrick mentions in this thread are making me sweat a little.

Erasmus has been one I have wanted all year, so he has to be it. His floor for mine is Mark Lecras. (Id be delighted with that but think he’s got a massive ceiling)

So at WC’s picks in order of preference, assuming no crazy sliders (haven’t really considered guys who likely won’t be available at these picks, like I’d love JHF at 10, or NWM or Knevitt at 29 but they just won’t be there)

10. Erasmus/Johnson/Goater
29/35: Any 2 of Sheldrick/MacDonald/Hough/Bazzo/roberts and I’d be pretty happy.

I’d like Alleer or Bazzo. Austin has stated though that he’s after a mid/forward and there’s a few in that range I like. Any of MacDonald, Motlop, Rankin, Butler or Clarke would be ok, they’re all impressive. Butler is probably the most likely to be able to split his time 50/50 between the midfield and forward line.

I just want us to draft a decent WA key forward for the first time in 20 years. I really want us to land Amiss.

The other picks I'm happy to back the club in.
Its not the end of the world if you don't pick Amiss in this years draft, apparently next year is the draft for tall key forwards, and Logan McDonald is ooc too.

I'm not keen to go for a big trade for a KP forward to be honest and if there's an obvious good WA key forward this year OT next, I hope we grab them.

I would really like Mac Andrew at our first. The consensus on the Richmond BF forum is weighted towards an inside mid such as Hobbs or Ward but I think Andrew has the tools to be an absolute footballing freak.

Picks:
7 (9) Mac Andrew
15 (17) In order of preference should they be available Erasmus, Goater, Johnson, Sonsie, Rachele.
26, 27 and 28 (or whatever they end up being after father/sons and academy) Any of the above if still available, Williams, Taylor, Bazzo, Van Rooyen or Alleer.
